Private tour by 40cv boat from Salerno to Amalfi and Positano

Well, what can I say… The best tour experience I have ever had! My friends and I had a great time and the views of the Amalfi coast are just speechless. The company offers a great support, communication and our skipper Francesco was very experienced and native from Salerno. Don’t look for any other tours, this is definitely what you are looking for!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🇮🇹

We took a trip for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. It has been the best day of our honeymoon so far. Claudio was lovely. he made a good attempt to speak English, whilst I did my best to speak Italian (poorly 😂), so communication was not an issue. We felt like he really cared if we were having a nice time and we had the chance to swim and take in the sights. One thing that we particularly appreciated was the opportunity to customise the trip. We had already visited Amalfi, we chose not to go there we also said that we preferred quiet places, so we actually spent most of the time on the boat, which is what we wanted - just to relax in peace. 🤍 We were happy to see Positano from the water! some people have asked how much the fuel is - we paid €70. All in all, We were delighted with the trip and would highly recommend it! Thank-you! ☀️

Abbiamo fatto un viaggio per la nostra luna di miele e ci siamo divertiti moltissimo. Finora è stato il giorno più bello della nostra luna di miele. Claudio era adorabile. lui ha fatto un buon tentativo di parlare inglese, mentre io ho fatto del mio meglio per parlare italiano (male 😂), quindi la comunicazione non è stata un problema. Ci sentivamo come se gli importasse davvero se ci stessimo divertendo e avessimo la possibilità di nuotare e ammirare il panorama. Una cosa che abbiamo particolarmente apprezzato è stata la possibilità di personalizzare il viaggio. Avevamo già visitato Amalfi, abbiamo scelto di non andarci, abbiamo anche detto che preferivamo posti tranquilli, quindi in realtà abbiamo trascorso la maggior parte del tempo in barca, che era quello che volevamo: semplicemente rilassarci in pace. 🤍 Siamo stati felici di vedere Positano dall'acqua! alcune persone hanno chiesto quanto costa il carburante: noi abbiamo pagato 70€. Tutto sommato, siamo rimasti molto contenti del viaggio e lo consigliamo vivamente! Grazie! ☀️

All communications were easy to understand and timely. Felt very safe and comfortable with our boat “Captain Meme”!! Saw the beautiful Amalfi coastline, had a wonderful seaside lunch and a very dip swim in the Mediterranean.
Perfect day out from Rome!

Ok, let me tell you, this private boat tour was AMAZING! I was worried about it as there weren’t many reviews, but the tour exceeded my expectations.

Months prior to the tour, Fabio reached out to me and answered some questions I had, which was so helpful. A few of the things explained were that every boat has cushions and an Bimini top (my mom has had skin cancer, so this was a must), the itinerary could be tailored to our needs (we skipped swimming as the water would be too cold for us Floridians), and the gas/port fees were very reasonable. I was also very concerned about not having an English-speaking skipper, which Fabio told me he’d try to get us one - and he did!

The day before the tour, our guide, Francesco, reached out to us to introduced himself. The next day, we took a train from Rome down to Salerno for the day for this tour. The train was a little late and the meeting point changed slightly, but our guide, Francesco, was so patient. Being able to text him while trying to find the location helped so much too. When we got out on the water, it was a sight to be seen! The mountains, homes, farming, caves, etc. were incredible! Francesco can REALLY drive a boat so well and was such a nice guy. He even brought us some light snacks as well as water and made sure to stop at different places to share little facts and answer our questions. The two stops we made at Positano and Amalfi were amazing! I wish we had more time at each stop, but we had to leave earlyish to catch the train back to Rome. Francesco was always very prompt to pick us up from each stop though, which really helped us make the most of our time. Once we got back to Salerno, we needed to pay for the gas, which we learned you must have euros for (you can only pay by card for the boat and skipper ahead of the trip). That’s no big deal, but something to note.

My parents, who we brought on this tour, loved it so much and maintain that it was the best day of our 12 day trip in different Italian, UK and German cities. When I say the views were incredible I truly mean it. I hope my review helps others who are considering this tour, but feel like you need more info.

To preface this review I want to say I have been to Italy 7-8 times and have been on multiple boat tours, sailboats, catamarans, etc. I have seen excellence on a tour and this was not it.

The tour did not start off great. The meeting spot texted to us was not actually the meeting spot. We found an old boat captain who helped us when we called Luca. We finally saw him walking and he guided us the rest of the way to the boat. Normally it is very easy to find the meeting spot as the person is looking for you. Anyways, Luca introduced us to his uncle Mimi(o)? And the boat which was very nice and well kept up.

Mimi does not speak English so we assumed Luca would be joining us to translate and point out various features of the coast. That was an incorrect assumption. Luca left and we were on our way with Mimi. The way to communicate is we would text Luca who would then call Mimi and we would go from there.

Because our tour was in May, there was no swimming, which is a majority of the tour. So, the first 1.5 hours were just viewing the coast which was beautiful but with no description or knowledge about what we were seeing. Mimi is an excellent captain, no doubt about it. He is clearly very skilled but the lack of English was a bit of a problem. We would enter caves and grottos and we had no idea what we were seeing. Additionally, he would shout out the town we were passing and that was it, no further knowledge or information.

We stopped at Positano and paid 35 euro to get off on their dock. We walked around for about an hour and I texted Luca asking about lunch. He suggested to get lunch at a different place not in Positano because they had a relationship with the restaurant. We followed his advice and I’m sorry to say the restaurant was bad, way too expensive for the food we actually ended up getting. This isn’t Luca’s fault per se but we would’ve been better off eating in Positano.

After lunch we went to Amalfi and spent an hour there which is more than enough time because it’s just a tourist trap at this point. Luca was very adamant we needed to be back by 5 so we started to head back. And that was pretty much it. There was a 70 euro fuel charge applied at the end so the tour ended up being $500.

I would say you get what you pay for but there are other tours around that are far less expensive than this one with actual English speaking guides. I think it’s fair to say this is not a tour but a boat outing with a skilled skipper and that’s it. I would not do this tour again or recommend it to anyone who wants information about Amalfi while on a boat cruise.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW AN APPROXIMATE HOW MUCH THEY CHARGE FOR GASOLINE AT THE END OF THE TOUR.
I DON'T WANT TO HAVE A HORRIBLE SURPRISE. AN APPROXIMATE WOULD BE ENOUGH.

Very pleasant day with my family discovering the Amalfi coast on a beautiful spring day. Thanks to the skipper we enjoyed the sun and crystal clear waters and finally we tasted typical local dishes in a restaurant by the sea. An experience that I recommend to anyone who wants to discover this wonderful corner of land.

Spring/March probably isn’t the best time for this boat tour as there is no swimming. But the views from the water are fabulous. The operator and skipper, Antonio, worked with us at changing the schedule and stops.

A great way to see the Amalfi Coast from the water.

Experience that is truly worth it. I booked this tour online and Fabio, the owner, immediately made himself available for the organization with great kindness and seriousness. We took a tour of the Amalfi coast with skipper, swimming break and aperitif. A paradise, a truly beautiful day. I highly recommend it, you will like it :)

Guide did not speak any english what so ever even though it says english speaking guide. Worth to get a small group on a better tour.
