Our guide provided an animated short history of Chile whilst linking major landmarks. This made the experience unique and engaging. Our guide, Claudio, turned this experience into a memorable one through his passion and animated storytelling. The short guide on Chilean food and restaurant suggestions added additional value.

We had specifically requested a tour with a guide who spoke Spanish because my wife does not understand English. We were, therefore, disappointed when we met the guide and he told us that he would give the tour in English because a couple from the U.S. would be joining us. When we told him that we had requested a Spanish speaking guide he had to call the office and apparently was told that because we had a U.S. phone number "they assumed we could understand English". When we pointed out that we had specifically requested a tour in Spanish, the answer was that the lady in the office had not actually looked at the details of the reservation - she had only looked at our phone number!! The guide, Pedro, who was actually good, was therefore put in a difficult situation and he had to give the tour both in English and in Spanish which obviously disrupted his explanations and made the tour less informative as it could have been. The experience was not a good one and it leaves the impression that Viator has an office where chaos rules and nobody reads the details of the reservations. We can, therefore, not recommend this service to others.
To be fair, Pedro was a very good guide and very knowledgeable - but he was put in a very difficult position by his incompetent colleagues in the office.

Obwohl ich alleine war hat Pedro mit mir die Tour durch santiago gemacht. Sein geschichtliches Wissen über Südamerika ist unglaublich gut. Er kann wunderbar zusammenhänge der Geschichte erklären. Vielen Dank für den unglaublich interessanten und kurzweiligen Rundgang.

Pedro was an excellent guide! He was very thorough in taking us around the city and explaining Santiago’s history to us. I would highly recommend this tour if you want a solid foundation of knowledge about Santiago. 😊

This was the first tour we took when we landed in Santiago and it provided us with a good base of what we wanted to explore more of! The day of the tour it was very cold and raining in Santiago this did not phase our guide one bit. He remained cheerful, knowledgeable and witty the entire time. He was truly passionate about his tour and I would highly recommend him.

To start our time here in Santiago, we decided to take a tour of the center to get to know our new home better. Claudio exceeded all our expectations, not only showing us the most important and impressive places in the historic center but also explaining the ancient and modern history of Chile to give context to the current situation in the country. Claudio is a natural guide with the gift of an excellent narrator, capable of telling the story in a comprehensive and entertaining way.
