Our guide was terrible. Her English was not good enough and she had such a thick accent that we could not understand much of what she said. She was also so quiet we could not hear what she was saying. I asked her politely many times to repeat things, to speak louder or to put the microphone to her mouth, but she would do it for one sentence and then stop. She was also late arriving and then cut the tour short, so it lasted only 55 minutes, instead of the 1 hour 30 mins advertised. There were 7 of us so it cost over $900 - a complete waste of money. Don't bother!!!!!

So at first I didn't trust this tour company because they had cancelled our night-time tour, but said they would rebook us for a better tour, underground! great!! so excited, I said yes, they said they had to wait until the Colosseum released the new tickets, what they DID NOT tell me was DO NOT CANCEL your night time booking on viator to clean up your account, even though I was told it was cancelled. I thought because they texted me and I said that yes I did want to do the Wednesday afternoon or morning tour that I was already reserved tickets. Luckily 6 people cancelled and we were able to book this exceptional tour! Our guide was sweet, knowledgeable, and had a great disposition. But this miscommunication cost me losing my money on a different colosseum tour because a different company would not refund my money on a simpler colosseum tour , so this was a very stressful experience. I have heard that some Colosseum tours are fraudulent. It all worked out, so yes, do this tour, trust this company and enjoy yourselves, just be sure to communicate very clearly with this company.

Excellent tour of the underground and arena floor. Not as crowded as the other areas in the colosseum. Excellent views, gladiators gate, underground, etc. A must do in Rome.

The best way to experience the Colosseum! The tour was led by an archeologist and she so knowledgeably shared insights about the structure, excavations and the gladiatorial games. Wonderful!

The Colosseum underground tour is the best. I have been on 2. This guide was very knowledgeable. This tour did not include guided tours of Palantine Hill or the Forum.

I did a colosseum tour the 1st day I arrived in Rome, but the underground is totally something else, you'll get to see how the animals elevator works, you'll be watching in a 3D presentation of Gladiators walking straight towards the arena from the passage where they used to out, you'll also see original Gladiators helmets displayed in large cabinets, and some remanufactured along with complete armor and weapons

It started with everyone in the group standing around trying to get the intercoms working and it was a horrible situation. It was spotty at best through the whole tour. I ended up logging on to Rick Steve’s audio tour and put my AirPods in. From the day I purchased our tickets it was a hassle of canceling and rescheduling and then FINALLY getting a booking the day before the tour and then finding out the day of, that the underground part was canceled because of the pope visiting for Good Friday, yet had the company not moved my dates and times around at the last minute for this or that (I have emails to prove it and had nothing to do with the poor in the beginning), we could have had the whole experience. The woman doing the tour had such broken English that it was hard to understand and then at some point she told us we had a 10 minute break to look around and take photos and to meet her on the lower level by the bookstore. We went there and she was no where. We looked around and around couldn’t find her, we eventually called the original number and while I was on the phone with the coordinator some of the group showed up lost also. By the time we found the guide (she was outside the colosseum, no where we were told to be) we lost the rest of the group which was about 6 to 8 people. It was a complete cluster 🤬. We were so sad that our travels across the country couldn’t have been more organized when it came to this group tour.

FYI: I did get a partial refund for the lack of underground tour, but I would have much rather seen what I paid for.
