The driver was great - very helpful and polite. The guides were so fun and the photo option was really reasonable and an excellent value. We had 10 people in our group (8 yrs to 65 yrs)and everyone thought this was one of our favorite vacation activities!

The entire experience was spectacular - from communication, to the long drive. Our tour guide and driver, Alfred and photographer was professional, and extremely knowledgeable of the culture as well as the route. I felt safe, and had a wonderful time.

Very nice trip to the waterfalls! The company picked us up on time from the cruise terminal. Nice and comfortable transportation. The driver, tour guides and photograpger were very friendly. Life jackets, helmets and watershoes were included in the price. We felt safe and taken care of. At the end of the experience we had lunch and mamajuana : ) Highly recommended!

The tour guide was very accommodating, patient, friendly I had a blast. The water was warm. You can slide or jump. I used my cell phone in a waterproof case. The tour guide didn't mind taking pictures was a yip

Santos is an incredible tour guide and driver! He made the experience so enjoyable. From letting us keep our bags in his car, to offering towels as we came back soaking wet from the rain. Highly recommend!

Alfredo was waiting for us at the cruise terminal and got us to the waterfalls to beat the crowds! On the way he educated us about everything Dominican. Our ride was super nice with AC and WiFi. He introduced us to local produce and drinks that were delicious! I would highly recommend booking him over a cruise tour any day!!! Also the waterfalls were a must do! So much fun sliding down natural rock formations and jumping into deep refreshing pools!

One of best excursions we’ve been on. The waterfall jumps & slides into cold water was so much fun. Few tips: the mile hike up mountain was a bit challenging, would not recommend for children < 12. You will be wearing your water shoes to hike up rocky mountain, so get ones w/ good traction.
IMPORTANT: On drive back to ship the Viator rep. (from outside company) asked if we (4 ppl) wanted a short (driving) tour of Puerta Plata, we said yes. Instead he drove us to a place and parked, we asked “why are we here”? He chuckled and said for “free mangos”. We followed him across the street unknowingly into a jewelry shop!!! The salespeople were very pushy as we told them we were not here to shop. They tried to get us to go to back room to “learn about the history of the island”, etc. Very intimidating & creepy! We had to assertively tell our driver to bring us back to ship, he then still tried to talk us into going somewhere else. For your safety, beware of unscrupulous drivers — do not agree to do anything other than tour. Take tours w/ large groups that require more of a bus than a SUV like we were picked up in. I hope Viator will look into this, as I imagine this was his 1st rodeo.

Alfredo picked us up on time from the cruise port taxi area. It's about a 15min walk from the ship to the taxi area so give yourself time. He was friendly, professional and very helpful throughout the tour. He told us about the local areas as he drove to the waterfall. Alfredo dropped us off at the waterfall entrance and handed us over to a guide where you join up with other tour groups. There was about 20 people total in each group. We were able to leave our personal belongings in Alfredo's car. He also helped us get water shoes if we needed it. He gave us water bottles. The hike to the waterfalls had many steps and mostly inclined so wear good water shoes with soles. There were many other groups (from other cruise ships, etc) so the waterfall hike was rather slow and we all bottlenecked at each waterfall. I gave it one less star because of the crowds. There didn't seem to be any limit in the amount of people entering this Damajagua area so it was packed when we went. The guides move you along rather quickly once you get to the waterfalls so that other groups can access it. You can jump, go down a ladder, or slide down the waterfalls on rock slides. My 19yo son is autistic and did the slides & ladders, and thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. Overall, even though it was very crowded at the falls, I would still recommend this excursion. It was fun.
