Could not recommend the Path of the Gods more -- it was a great, relatively gentle hike (if you're in hiking shape) that was enjoyable from start to finish. Luca was one of the best guide's I've ever had. He was informative and mindful of our desired pace and made the experience that much more enjoyable!

Beautiful hike but it was initially foggy. The views were spectacular once tge fog lifted The hike was a moderate level of intensity with some uphill climbing that at times was kinda hard. We all work out but it still challenged us. Overall it was around 4 miles. Wear really good sneakers or hiking boots as there are alot of rocks. One big highlight was stopping at the shepards house midway up for a snack. He was a real Shepard who took care of goats and donkeys. He prepared homemade goat cheese, wine and fresh tomato’s with bread and honey. Such a cool experience.

Beautiful but tough
After taking the bus from Amalfi town we arrived in Bomerano at midday to start the walk. The trail is signed, small signs, in the town so you can follow to the starting point. The path is dusty, sometimes a little slippy with the stones being worn and shiny. It’s a fairly grueling trek, up and down parts. Take plenty of water, stop to rest under shade where you find it. There are confusing areas where the trail seems unclear. At first confusing point about 1km in there is a rock boulder sticking over the path, this is where you follow. We went above this boulder and another path led us up higher but we rejoined the lower path again at a old ruins where there were steps down. Look for random red paint splashes on rocks to show you the correct way. When we reached Nocelle it was very unclear where the bus to Positano would be and we inadvertently continued on the steps to Positano not by desire, but once going we kept on them. By this time it was very intense heat so not an easy task. Make sure to ask for directions to the bus stop in Nocelle, it’ll save a lot of pain!! Overall a beautiful day, stunning views with a real sense of achievement after the finish! It took us 3.5 hours for complete hike.

What a beautiful experience. Our guide Antonio was fantastic, he met us in Amalfi town after our breakfast at Andrea Pansa and had a taxi set up to take us to the beginning of the Sentiero degli Dei in Bomerano. He said he walks the trail daily during the tourist season so he could do it blindfolded! He pointed out so many interesting details along the way, the best wine-making grapes in the area, all the various types of flora etc. He had some nice stories too about the ancient Greeks, the Sirens, and Odysseus and how they became associated with some of the islands which can be seen 1,000 feet below.

Most importantly, he gave us a choice of a more relaxing and shaded “upper trail” or a more difficult and sun-exposed “lower trail”. Without Antonio we would have not have known that distinction between the two, nor would we have noticed where the upper trail splits off because it’s not we’ll marked with signage. He also knows where the loose dirt/ slippery rocks are at certain points in the trail so that we were able to avoid tripping or slipping in that area (nobody wants a €30,000 helicopter ride out of there with a twisted ankle).

The walk itself was spectacular- I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful seaside trail anywhere in the world. It’s only “equal” might be the Cinque Terre trail.

After finishing the walk in Nocelle, Antonio was able to get us a taxi down into Positano for a reasonable price, thus allowing us to avoid what the locals call the steep “knee-breaker” steps into town. Antonio is proud of his position as a professional hiking guide and he acts like it, he was always looking out for our safety and comfort. He was worth every bit of his price and then some and we wouldn’t hesitate to use Zia Lucy again for other tours. Grazie Mille Antonio!

Do not recommend. We went on a Thursday morning in late May and the path was extremely crowded. A lot of boisterous group hikers clogging the path made this thoroughly disappointing. The views are incredible, but please stop to the side so others can pass.

Alessandro was our tour guide. Highly recommend him! Knows the path very well and was very patient during the hike. Also very knowledgeable about the history as well. Great at conversations. We opted for the picnic and he picked the best and freshest food.

An exhilarating hike, as we decided to hike up from Praiano.
Unfortunately the sun was shining on us on the way up but the clouds came in once we did the route back to Nocelle. So weren't able to get any view /outlook photos.
However, highly recommended for those that like hiking 🚶‍♀️ as a pastime 🙂

A very nice hike with stunning views. Very italian- you start and end at restaurants/ bars and a place for limoncello in the middle. Moderate hike- lots of rock steps- I would strongly recommend hiking poles and setting out as early as possible before it gets warm. You can also download the trip at the beginning to ensure you don't get lost, but that is very hard to do!
