Relaxed private tour that will introduce you to the best dominican flavours and will give you time to chill out at the beach.
You'll start the day with the first dosis of relax on the beach. We'll invite you to try fresh coconut water and will show you few varieties of rum, explaining the differences between them. Of course you can taste them all :)
Then you'll have lunch in a local restaurant specialised in fish. Seafood paella is included in price but you can also order lobster or crab.
You'll also explore the Puerto Plata old city and famous Pink Street and Umbrella Street. Here by the main square you'll find the best dominican coffee and home made ice cream.
In chocolate factory you'll taste delicious products made out of organic cocoa.
Discover one more beach and have some true pinacolada served in a pineapple! You can also enjoy some more cocktails while chilling..
Get to know our city and coast, eat some good food and try delicious drinks based on high quality rum.

The tour guide, Antonio, was very friendly and accommodating. Antonio was more than patient with my elderly mother. She fell and scraped her knee. He got some alcohol and gauze for her without asking. He was very knowledgeable about the city Puerto Plata. Highly recommend.

Omg, this was an amazing day! I’d highly recommend this private tour. Our driver was Antonio and was so accommodating to our specific wishes and needs. He easily adapted our schedule to accommodate my Aunt who had difficulty walking to limit that for her as well as taking into account dietary restrictions. From the walk around town, to the beach where we had an impressive pina colada in a fresh pineapple and lunch, to our tour of the chocolate factory and rum factory including plenty of samples, we had the best day. With history and local information from Antonio, it was a perfect way to see Puerta Plata .

What was supposed to be offered wasn’t given. We did not get the chicken, ice cream or the coconut. The coffee we purchased ourselves. We felt like it wasn’t a food tour but just a shopping day. From the start, pickup was difficult. We were told the main gate, but it wasn’t an easy location to find and the car was unmarked. We didn’t know who to look for!

It was hard finding our tour guide Antoine. When you get off the ship you walk thru all these shops and restaurants. We kept asking where to meet our guide. Finally found him outside the terminal area on the street. Our first stop was Long Beach. It had rained for 2 days so the water was brown. Also a lot of trash on the beach. Not impressed. The rest of the tour was good. Chocolate factory, rum tasting, walking thru town. Had empanadas and for lunch we had pyaea. Very good. Would have liked to have seen some of the country side but it was all city and beach. Antoine was great. If we would have had more time I’m sure he would have driven us around more.

We have had GREAT experiences with Viator. This one was really disappointing!
Daniel did not meet us at the appointed time - someone had to call him.
Daniel is a very nice person, but lacks a good bit in being a guide.
He first took us to a beach and nothing there was open.
He would drop us at a restaurant and walk away - last one we could not understand the waiter. Then Daniel was eating his food 20 minutes after we finished ours ( not 100% sure what we ordered).
He stayed on his phone most of the time.
We ended up asking him to take us back to the ship 2-3 hrs before the tour was over.

Great experience would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a tour of Puerto Plata. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Puerto Plata's history took us to several nice spots. Started off with a fresh pina colada in a pineapple on the beach and ended with an awesome lunch of Seafood Paella.
