On the West Bank or ‘City of the Death’ we will first see the amazing temple of Queen Hatshepsut, second female pharaoh. Our guide will tell you more about her interesting life.

The Valley of the Kings is a valley in Egypt where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock-cut tombs were excavated for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. Here you will visit the 3 tombs built by ancient Egyptians. Included in the package you can choose to visit the tombs of Ramses V and VI, or the Howard Carter House.

The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which stand at the front of the ruined Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III, the largest temple in the Theban Necropolis. They have stood since 1350 BC, and were well known to ancient Greeks and Romans, as well as early modern travelers and Egyptologists. Delicious egyptian lunch (drinks not included)

Ancient temples were considered to be the residence of the god. The Karnak temple was the dwelling place of Amon-Re, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu, the moon god. Here you will witness awe inspiring architecture and design created many generations ago.

Luxor Temple is the second within Luxor which is considered the fertility temple of the god Amun Ra.

This attraction includes a tour of the Valley of the Queens. Here is the site where Ancient Egyptian queens, princes, princesses, and other high ranking officials were buried. The Valley of the Queens was known as "The Place of Beauty" as it is closely associated with Nefertari, the beloved wife of Ramses II.

Our guide, Marwa Fatafeat Elsoker, was the best tour guide we’ve had on our Egypt trip so far. She was very informative and helpful and attentive to our needs. Her guidance and explanations really enriched our time in Luxor. I truly believe that I was able to enjoy Luxor more because of Marwa. My guide Noah is the BEST. He made the tour so much fun. I was so impressed with his knowledge. He looked out for us, by keeping us hydrated.. made sure we always had water. I ALWAYS felt safe and everything was taken care of. I have booked another tour and will insist on getting Noah from Opulance of Egypt. He really is great.

It felt so goed to be back in Luxor. Third time I visited Luxor and Karnak Temples and still I discover more interesting spots.

We visited Luxor previously two decades ago when we were lucky enough to meet a driver called Barry. Luckily for us he is still there and is now a fully-fledged professional guide. Barry is a West Bank local who has expert knowledge of the City of Luxor and the East and West side historic attractions.

Sadly our time in the city was short so we wanted to get the most out of our time. Barry ensured that our visit was well paced and we got to see everything we wanted to see. This private tour was like being escorted by a friend.

We intend to visit again in the not too distant future and hope to include the Egyptian cooking course next time. Highly recommended.

Vibrant Luxor can feel a little chaotic when you first arrive. Lots of people vying for your attention it can be a bit overwhelming.

With this in mind we are so pleased that we chose Opulence of Egypt to guide us through the magic of Luxor and the West Bank.

Barre (Barry) our guide collected us and drove us to the West Bank where we had the most marvellous time. We saw so much and Barry guided us past the crowds to the best vantage points. All this was done without us feeling rushed or hurried. Barre took care of our entrance tickets (all included in the tour price) and ensured that we were kept hydrated in the heat. We couldn’t ask for more and would certainly recommend Barre and Opulence of Egypt - they are the best.
