This tour felt very disjointed and a bit too long if I’m being honest. I was mostly interested in the dairy farm and cheese factory visit but was excited for the other stops. I did very much enjoy the dairy farm visit and found it informative. I also enjoyed the information provided from your guide Thomas! He was knowledgeable and forthcoming with information. He welcomed all my questions. After the cheese factory visit, I found the day to drag out a bit. First things, the lunch stop was late in the day falling close to 2pm. We had one option only and it was the restaurant at the mountain top stop. It was expensive and mediocre. After this, we were taken to multiple store fronts in the village of appenzell. I think it’s nice that samples were provided from the stops but honestly it felt awkward having 15 people hovering in small shops while the guide picked up the samples to pass around. I think the backend of the tour could be shortened to just a free time experience in Appenzell. Best to let people browse the lovely shops at their leisure instead of being led around like sheep for an hour. Major room for improvement on this tour but I do like the concept of it.

One of the best tours I’ve ever been on! The tour guide was Swiss, and gave a great background in the history and geopolitics of the area. The Dairy farmer was very friendly and gave us an eye opening tour of his family farm. We strolled through the chocolate shops in Appenzel, as well as a cheese factory. We got to taste all of it, and even got to take home some treats that were included in the tour. In Appenzel, we parked next to the beer brewery, which was fantastic. A long, but fulfilling travel day!

The cow farm and its owner. She was very welcoming and explained about the process of preparing milk to be sold. We learned a lot.

Visiting the farm where I learned a lot about cows.
Also, the farm was sustainable having a solar panel.

This was an excellent tour. We happened to have a great group so that made it even better. Peter was a wonderful guide. The farm tour was very interesting and the cheese tasting was very good. We had a nice time on the mountain and were able to see a lot despite some cloud cover. Peter made sure to point out countries and highlights. Appenzell was a very cute village with not too many people. The tastings were all very nice and we did go home with a very nice goody bag. Would def recommend this tour option.

It was great to see this part of Switzerland. Our tour guide, Franz, was fantastic. The dairy farm visit and cheese factory museum were great. The chocolate and mountain view part of the tour were lacking. The mountain was fogged in, so no views at all up top. I recommend that they just cut this on days there is no view and refund that portion of the trip since there is nothing to see or do but spend more money eating in the restaurant on the mountain (which did have excellent food). Then, the Appenzell chocolatier whose shop we stopped at was an hour late, when he did arrive the tasting and meet and greet lasted 10 minutes which did not seem proportional to the amount of time spent waiting for him to show. Overall, seeing Appenzell was interesting, but I think this tour could have had better value for the amount paid.

This trip was absolutely worth the money for my partner and I to do. The trip starts in Zurich (ensure you arrive on time as they are prompt to leave) and they take you on a sprinter van to the Appenzell region about 1 1/2 hrs away. The ride is gorgeous and the guide is incredibly engaging. You make stops through breath-taking countryside and end up at the cheese factory. They teach you what makes switzerland cheese so famous and about the culture of the area. The cheese tasting is great and they provide gifts at each stop. Then you’re whisked off to a small village to have lunch at the top of a mountain. You do have to ride cable car to get there, but it’s well worth it. The views are again incredible. The tour ends with a chocolate store and walking around the small village learning more and seeing incredibly painted buildings. It was a great tour for anyone wanting to experience how amazing Switzerland is in a unique way. The tour guide really was fantastic and taught us so much. We made memories that will last a lifetime!

A good trip if you want to escape from Zurich city. Cheese factory and farm visit was nice. However, after that the appenzelle city tour was boring and we literally had nothing to do. The trip to Hohen Kaster mountain was also very boring. Instead of this, they could have taken us to Aescher which was more interesting. Some activities should have been included in the second half part of the trip to avoid boring walks. Our guide Monica was awesome and she did everything in her capacity to keep us engaged

The tour was an amazing day of seeing Switzerland in the Appenzell area. Martin our tour guide was informative, thoughtful, and friendly in providing great stories of the Appenzell area. He took us to several more places that we weren't expecting and each spot was remarkable with either the views or the food/shopping of the area with many goodies provided throughout the tour.
