Yuki was the sweetest person I met in Japan. She gave us a fantastic private architecture tour and brought us to some very cool buildings with very creative details that we would not have seen during our own exploration. Yuki absolutely loved architecture and was very passionate about the material she spoke about. It was a great experience. She also allowed me to complain about the heat and humidity without getting frustrated and suggested multiple stops to get something cold to drink and cool off in the air conditioning! Thank you Yuki.

Omotesando, often referred to as Tokyo’s Champs-Élysées, is renowned for its stunning architecture, high-end boutiques, and sophisticated atmosphere. Our family recently embarked with our guide Mari on an architecture tour of this stylish district, and it proved to be a delightful and educational experience for everyone.

Mari made the architecture tour of Omotesando an enriching experience that offered a blend of high-end modern design and thoughtful traditional elements. Each building we visited had its unique charm, making the tour engaging for both adults and our teenage children. The district’s mix of cultural and commercial spaces ensured that there was something for everyone. Mari allowed us to enter shops that we found interesting and offered us advised on nearby areas that we would enjoy.

We highly recommend this tour for families looking to explore Tokyo’s architectural gems in a vibrant and sophisticated setting.

Within a short distance on Omotesando and Miyuji Avenues, there are awesome buildings by five Pritzker prize winners. My tour was with Taka, a retired architect, who showed me on his I-pad photos of the architects, background info, floor plans as well as where to stand to get the best photos. We began with an icon, Kenzo Tange’s National Yoyogi Gymnasium. Then we walked down the street to see Akinisa Hirata’s Tokyo Plaza Harakado with the planted rooftop vertical garden. Next, we visited inside and outside the convex and concave glass of the Prada store by Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron’s. Finally, Tadao Ando’s Collezione with half the building being underground. There were numerous other amazing buildings. I was very impressed with this tour and recommend it highly.

A great walk through Harajuku and Omotesando, looking at both exterior and interior spaces. Aki was able to tailor the tour to our specific preferences and guide us through the neighborhoods.

"We had a most interesting architecture tour through Omotesando yesterday. Our guide Aki was perfect, he not only showed us the buildings from outside, but took us inside whenever possible and explained the structure of the buildings. He also had all the information on the architects and related building they created all over the world. Just a perfect tour. Arigato gozaimasu, Aki!"
