Silfra is a crack in the Earth ripped open by the movement of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
The crystal clear glacial water filling the Silfra fissure has been filtered for decades through underground lava rock, providing over 100 meters of underwater visibility. The underwater scenery that you experience in Silfra is found nowhere else on Earth, a true bucket list dive.
The diving tour of Silfra is done in a dry suit, helping you to stay warm and dry inside the suit.
You will explore the four main parts of Silfra, the big crack, Silfra hall, Silfra Cathedral and the Silfra Lagoon. You will be able to touch the 2 continents at one point, don't forget to take a photo!
Silfra is located in Thingvellir National Park which is a Unesco heritage site. The beautiful park is one of the wonders on the famous Golden circle route.

I couldn’t recommend this tour enough! I’ve never seen water so clear before and the views were amazing. Henry was very knowledgeable of the area and helped us out a lot when it came time to outfitting our gear.

The dive of a lifetime! What a great experience with DIVE.IS from first contact on the website to drop off back in Reykavik and everything in between. Jana and Henry were amazing guides and really made this a special dive for me. I would highly recommend both of them and DIVE.IS for your Silfra experience.

Really fun! The tour guides are thorough in taking care of you and ensuring you’re prepared. The snorkeling itself is out of this world with such clear water. You can literally look down in between the tectonic plates.

A great diving experience. This dive site was on my bucket-list and it didn't disappoint. DIVE.IS was great to work with - quick to respond and super helpful! Also, Briosh, our guide did an amazing job in managing all the details, gear setup, explaining the dive sites, what to expect and the do's and don'ts. On top of that, took some great photos!

Great dives with Arnar, James and Denise. Guides were knowledgeable about the dive site, attentive, helpful with equipment and had many recommendations of things to do while in Iceland
