Wachau Valley Small-Group Tour and Wine Tasting from Vienna

The wine valley is beautiful. The winemakers we visited were nice but not special and not representative of the best wines we have tried in Austria. These are the commercial producers and the wine tasting rooms are neither beautiful or extraordinary. We very much enjoyed our guide, Marco, an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, with extraordinary English.

A favorite Austrian adventure! Our group of four friends travelled on a girls trip to Vienna, which also included day trips to several surrounding cities/countries. Our experience in Wachau Valley was incredible. We met our knowledgeable and friendly guide and embarked on an hour or so drive to Durnstein. We enjoyed our first tasting and then had just the right amount of time (an hour) to explore beautiful Durnstein. We lunched on local charcuterie and wine at another winery before our final stop and tasting. The one-hour cruise on the Danube to Melk was aboard a large ferry. We found a table outside on the upper, covered deck to enjoy the sights, visit, and relax. The weather was warm (near 90), but we were comfortable in sundresses and sandals. The van we travelled in was new and clean. We booked a semi-private tour, which ended up being private for just our group. Icing on the cake! We would highly recommend this adventure!

It was a very enjoyable day and a bit different paced to my touring around more relaxed. The guide Tim was very informative as well as relaxed and fun. Great day oh and the wine and brandy were excellent

Our guide Camillo was so friendly and nice so that the whole experience of spending a day in the Wachau region is something so special . He gave us a lot of insightful tips for how to enjoy Wachau wine!

Marco and Tomas were amazing guides for the day. They were fun, helpful, and talkative in the best way. This was our favorite day in Austria because of them. We learned so much about the Wachau Valley and their unique wine. But it was always fun.

Had a wonderful day with our tour guide Marco. It was a beautiful drive out to the Wachau Valley where we sampled lovely, unique wines from the region. Most of the wines are hand picked, so the quality is excellent. Then we visited a medieval town that was just amazing. Had a lovely lunch in the beautiful gardens of a local restaurant that offered local specialties of meat and cheeses, followed by a cruise up the Danube which was breathtaking!
Thank you Marco for your warm hospitality and making the day a seamless one for everyone on the tour.
Hopefully your Austrian friends can “throw the ball back” to you soon 🤣🤣
