The Valley of the Temples is one of the most outstanding examples of Greater Greece art and architecture, and is one of the main attractions of Sicily as well as a national monument of Italy. The area was included in the UNESCO Heritage Site list in 1997.
The archaeological park and landscape of the Valley of the Temples is the largest archaeological site in the world with 1,300 hectares, but the term 'valley' is a misnomer, the site being located on a ridge outside the town of Agrigento.

While our tour guide was pleasant and well informed, but unfortunately she was unable to translate that into a interesting story that could engage our group. Language might’ve also been part of the problem.

This is a must when you go to Sicily!!! I loved walking and being able to take pictures and make memories in this place, Thankful for the privilege of being able to be there and hear the story behind the well preserved Temples! I just hope everyone is able to see it!!!! Beautiful experience, great tour guide also was a plus!!!!

A highly recommended destination and tour. Our guide, Sergio, was great. He brought the 2,000 year old artifacts to life with knowledge, charm and enthusiasm. We also appreciated his flexibility, accomodating a last minute change in timing when we were delayed in departing from Palermo.

We are very happy that we decided to have a private guide to visit the Valley of the Temples as it really helped us to understand the history behind these incredible temples. 2 1/2 hours is the perfect amount of time to absorb these amazing ruins. Our tour guide was very engaging and we loved all the extra stories and of course visiting and feeding the cashmere sheep. Totally recommend

it is advertised as a two hour tour. After 1.5 hours, our guide informed us that the tour was over and we could either walk back to the point of beginning without her(which I assume was the remaining half hour) or walk down the hill and take taxi back to the top parking lot. Taxi drivers were very rude and didn"t want to be bothered. Definitely not worth the money. We used etnatribe out of Catania for another tour and were very pleased. I discovered that they have a combination day tour of Agrigento and the Roman villa for much less than this tour.

Our guide, Sara, was very knowledgeable and added a great deal of insight during our tour. I can't imagine being able to appreciate the history of the site without her input. If, as we did, you make a special journey to see the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, you should consider this private tour. A five star tour, but given only four because the price is per tour rather than per person.
