Sanssouci was the summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, in Potsdam, located nearby Berlin. Sanssouci is notable for the numerous temples and follies in the park. The palace was designed/built by Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff between 1745 and 1747 to fulfill King Frederick's need for a private residence where he could relax away from the pomp and ceremony of the Berlin court.

The Glienicke Bridge is a bridge across the Havel River in Germany, connecting the Wannsee district of Berlin with the Brandenburg capital Potsdam. It is named after nearby Glienicke Palace. The current bridge, the fourth on the site, was completed in 1907, although major reconstruction was necessary after it was damaged during World War II. During the Cold War, as this portion of the Havel River formed the border between West Berlin and East Germany, the bridge was used several times for the exchange of captured spies and thus became known as the Bridge of Spies.

The Dutch Quarter/Holländisches Viertel is in Potsdam, a neighborhood, consisting of 134 red Dutch brick buildings, almost all of which have been renovated. It was built from 1733 to 1740 and designed by Jan Bouman following the order of Frederick William I of Prussia.

The Russian colony Alexandrovka is located in the north of Potsdam. King Frederick William III of Prussia had it built in 1826/27 for the last twelve Russian singers of a former choir of 62 soldiers. Due to the family and friendly relations between the Hohenzollern and Romanov houses, the colony was named a memorial to Tsar Alexander I, who died in 1825. As part of Potsdam's cultural landscape, the colony is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Cecilienhof Palace is a palace in Potsdam, Brandenburg, built from 1914 to 1917 in the layout of an English Tudor manor house. Cecilienhof was the last palace built by the House of Hohenzollern that ruled the Kingdom of Prussia and the German Empire until the end of World War I. Wellknown for having been the location of the Potsdam Conference in 1945, in which the leaders of the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and the United States made important decisions affecting the shape of post World War II Europe and Asia. Cecilienhof is also UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990.

The Old Market Square is a centrally located square in downtown Potsdam which forms the historical center of the city. The square consists of the area around St. Nicholas' Church.

The Ruinenberg is a hill in the Bornstedt borough of Potsdam, located north of Sanssouci Park. In 1748, the Prussian King, Frederick the Great, had a water tank with a capacity of around 7,600 cubic metres built on top to supply the Sanssouci water features, and had it decorated with artificial ruins. From 1841 a surrounding landscape garden was laid out at the behest of King Frederick William IV of Prussia, according to plans designed by Peter Joseph Lenné.

St. Nicholas Church in Potsdam is a Lutheran Church located on the Old Market Square in Potsdam. The central plan building in the Classicist style and dedicated to Saint Nicholas was built to plans by Karl Friedrich Schinkel between 1830 and 1837. The tambour of the 77-metre-high church that towers above the roofs of the city was built between 1843 and 1850. Its construction has been made by Ludwig Persius and from 1845, Friedrich August Stüler. Towards the end of the Second World War, the church was hit during the British air raid on Potsdam and subsequently badly damaged by Soviet artillery fire. After many years of rebuilding the church was re-consecrated in 1981 by the Evangelical Parish of St. Nicholas, Potsdam, and, today, is open to visitors. In addition to the normal church services, concert events are also held in the church.

Our tour guide, Jasmine, was excellent. Pottsdam is lovely and the palace and grounds breathtaking. Would not hesitate to recommend this tour!

This trip is almost too short. You could easily spend a whole day in Potsdam. It was a great break from Berlin without losing time there. The bridge of spies and Sans Soucci are iconic.

Very informative and enjoyable tour of Potsdam and Sanssousis palace. Yasmeen was a great guide. There was an audio guide inside the palace but our tour guide provided additional information before and after. I was so glad I opted for the
tour rather than going to the palace
on my own.

Fabulous driver and the guide Jasmine was enthusiastic, humorous and a fountain of information. She was extremely kind to an injured lady in the trip, helping her , always patient. We had a fantastic trip and learnt a lot more than the history of the surrounding areas. Would definitely vouch for this trip with this group for anyone wanting a potsdam and sansoucci trip. Had a great time on this tour, Jasmine was a fantastic and fun tour guide. We had a mix of English and German speakers that day, so she repeated everything in both languages. The bilingual tour was really pleasant and it never felt like she had to skip anything. (I enjoyed continuing to practice my German comprehension.) The tour was exactly as described: a comfortable bus, a nice mix of sitting and walking (really not too much walking by tourism standards).

The Sanssouci palace was nice, you basically just walk through the rooms with the audio guide (which you can listen to on your own phone with your own headphones; very comfortable), so you spend about 45 minutes inside the palace. It seemed like the perfect amount of time to see the rooms. For the drive to Potsdam, the walk around the gardens, and the drive back, Jasmine entertained us with a mix of history, cultural context, and general amusement. Some of the reviews here on TripAdvisor clearly are for the wrong tour — there was no lunch break, there were just a couple very short breaks overall. It was well-paced and a great value. We were really happy we chose this tour!

Very disappointed with the tour, you spend hours in a bus to be there for an hour and half. The day experience Potsdam but you don’t. You see the Palace and the garden. Get there by train on your own and enjoy the whole day. Our day was waisted on this tour.
The tour leader new her stuff and I high commend her on the knowledge but that’s it.

This was excellent. Our guide was lovely and gave a well thought out and informative overview of Potsdam.
The gardens at Sans Soucci are absolutely stunning and all the history on Frederick the Great was fascinating
