I got there 20 minutes late due to transit ticketing. Driver tried to meet me but we could not find each other in front of Kyoto station. Messaging was bad and my wassapp was not installed because I do not use it. I got there within the 30 minute threshold but because of how busy it was and a set exact pick up point was not set they left so I missed the your despite running from the station with my daughter to make it just in time. Oh well.

We traveled from Osaka to Kyoto for the day and had a half day tour planned. They left us stranded, no call, no email. We had hotel call the local number and no answer. We had to scramble and figure out what we could do for the half day. We still have no answer. A complete scam - STAY AWAY!! Viator also did nothing and took zero accountability.

On our app the time was at 12 the guide had the meeting time at 1 PM. The guide did contact me via WhatsApp, however I had accidentally deleted my message and there was no way for me to contact the guide back on wats up. I had also messaged on the Viator app 12 days prior to confirm my pick up location and there was no response to the message. We had also had paid in our tour for our entry cost which the guide was not aware of. The company was disorganized. However, the guide him self was very sweet and kind. He was also was very understanding and was very educational of the spots we visited.

The guide Johannes was EXCELLENT. We recommend Johannes extremely HIGHLY. Kind knowledgeable. Great guide .
The tour organizer company were BAD. They told us they would give us details at 4 pm the day before the tour and they seem to have only advised the guide the morning of the tour. So we had to take a taxi and join the tour 30 minutes later after it had started.

Johannes was a friendly, engaging and knowledgeable tour guide. We learned all about Shinto, tried some great street food and even spotted an authentic geisha. Highly recommend him !

Very nice tour of Kyoto, most of all thanks to Diego, our guide! He came all the way to our hotel to pick us up and this is so important because it reduces the risk of being late due to the easiness of getting lost in a city you don’t know. The tour itself gives you a glimpse of places and landmarks of east Kyoto, while also giving you important informations to understand the history behind it. 10/10 would recommend!!
