We booked the Prince Junk 3 day, 2 night experience based on previous reviews. The boat has 4 cabins and was described as a boutique experience. The service and communication prior to travel, and on the boat, was outstanding. Food was abundant and tasty. Staff were excellent. Drinks were pricey - especially for wine. Credit to the staff . . . when they ran out of cheaper wine options, they replenished the next day. The boat is not new, and in terms of luxury - compared to luxury hotel standards - is slightly less impressive.
One of the things we were disappointed by was the marketing of "pristine beaches". There is no such thing here. Reality is that the water is riddled with garbage floating at surface level. Kayaking and swimming experiences are tainted by this. See picture of the beach we went to for our BBQ lunch. We chose to swim off the boat in cleaner water rather than from this beach, as suggested by #Chang our lovely tour guide.
Also, beware that the transfer home is long, and depending on your tolerance level, a little painful. Backroads are used to detour to a rural area for a puppet show. As per some previous reviews, instead of being a 2.5 hr trip back to Hanoi, it becomes a 5 hr experience. And don't forget the obligatory gift shop!
Would we do it again? No!
Do we regret it? No!
It was good to see. The landscape is awesome. Waking up to limestone island formations to view from your bedroom is spectacular.
All in all, we had a lovely time travelling with our friends. We saw really interesting things. We learned a lot. If you are considering this trip, you just need to weigh up what your level of expectation is in terms of "pristine" and "luxury". The staff will go to the end of the earth for you. This is an exceptional level of customer service.

It was great! The coordination was very smooth, and Harry the guide was exceptional. Would 100% rate this as a must do for couples. We did bai tu long bay, which is way less crowded than halong bay, do try it.

We had an amazing trip on the dragon legend cruise with Indochina Junk. One of our favorite parts was the crew & amazing customer service! Our tour guide Quân was top notch! He was always so attentive and ensuring all guests were having the best time, it was truly a wonderful experience because of his & the crews efforts. We would 100% return again and recommend to all!

We were on Dragon Pearl 2 with Coco as the guide and it blew away all our expectations. The trip was an absolute highlight of our time in Vietnam. The service is incredible, food delicious, and they even surprised us with a cake to celebrate our honeymoon. Coco made the trip unforgettable!

A beautiful panoramic view to escape reality. Bai Tu Long bay was more quiet with less people and the cruise felt like a private tour.
Our guide Coco and his team gave excellent service and had in depth knowledge of the surrounding area. Never ending courses of exquisite meals and we all had a great time on our BBQ lunch on a private beach.
The activities were fun, we felt relaxed and we weren't rushed to the next one.
Our boat 'Dragon Pearl' truly showed a traditional charm yet modern, clean, and comfortable. This cruise company really knows what theyre doing and has perfected their service. I would highly reccommend.

3 days and 2 nights spent on this Halong Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay cruise: breathtaking.
It was wonderful, the landscapes were exceptional, and everything was perfect in terms of activities (kayak, cooking class, squid fishing, etc.), meals, staff...
Our guide Petter was very kind throughout the stay and managed the organization very well.

We were initially a bit hesitant, unsure of how 3 days on a boat with 2 small kids would work out. We all had an excellent time. The tour staff and boat crew went out of their way to make our trip great, including going out of their way to engage with our kids. We had interleading rooms, the main room included a bath. The facilities onboard are great (including a small pool), every meal is very good and the excursions were very well planned and executed. The kayaking and beach bbq stand out as real highlights. Each day ended with cocktails, an 8 course dinner shared between the family and squid fishing off the back. We cannot recommend this trip highly enough.
