I will start off by saying that this was not a tour. Our driver was great and did his best, but there is a big difference between a driver and a tour. We did not follow any of the itinerary outlined in the description of this private tour to Costa Brava.
It first started when “Best Private Tour Barcelona” cancelled on us 9 hours before our tour so we scrambled to book another one. This is not Viator’s issue - it was the tour operator who didn’t make any effort to fix their mistake. Completely unprofessional of them.
So we ended up booking this “tour.”Again, our driver was great! I don’t blame him at all, but this was clearly a transport service - not a tour. He was trying, but there is a difference between a professional tour guide and a driver. The tour operator contact assured me that we would go to the destinations mentioned, but that did not happen.
Viator was quick to respond and assist, but these tour operators that they are outsourcing to did not deliver what they received payment for.
I’ve had tours through Viator previously and they have been fantastic, however this time is was a complete fail. If it weren’t for the nice driver, this would have been a 1 star rating.
