Our typical Icelandic fishing boat will take you in only 20 minutes to Lundey, a small, protected island, that is home to thousands of Atlantic puffins in the summer. Lundey is a nature reserve; while it is not allowed to step foot onto the island, our boat is perfect to approach it. You will get the best possible perspective over this emblematic bird in its most natural habitat.
Our passionate and experienced crew will take you on a journey to meet this iconic seabird and will provide you with binoculars as well as stories only them can tell. We loved that the whole crew, especially the captain of the boat and his brother made us feel like family right away inviting us to join them inside for coffee and homemade cookies! They spoke to us in great detail about Iceland in general and obviously about puffins and we were able to take lots of pictures! Would highly recommend them!

Really like this tour! We met two friendly brothers and they told us so many interesting things of puffins. We went to a small island and saw many cute puffins here. Recommend this tour to everyone.

We went on a puffin watching tour with Viggson to the island of Lundey and had a fantastic time! While having some coffee and cookies we traveled about 25-30 minutes to the island. We were able to get fairly close to the cliff side (it’s a protected sanctuary) and could see hundreds if not thousands of them. They provided us with binoculars as well.
The two brothers, Jakob and Vigfus, that operate the boat are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They really wanted to give everyone the best possible time. The weather was beautiful and the seas were calm. I definitely recommend doing this while you’re in Reykjavik!

Super friendly and welcoming guides. The guides welcomed us with coffee and chocolate cookies. We were a small group and therefore had a great time getting knowledgeable insights from the guide.. The tour was about 1 hour and 30 min. And we managed to circumnavigate the Puffin island and get some good views. Everyone was provided with a pair of binocolors to get up close and personal with the Puffin colony. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone who is going to come to Reykjavik!
