Head to Thingvellir National Park, where you learn about how it lies within a volcanically active area. It's also home to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Straddle two continents while you walk between the plates.

Laugarvatn sits next to a beautiful lake of the same name in a geothermally active area. The plumes of super-heated vapor billowing into the air in this area are used by the locals to bake rye bread in the ground!

Next, visit the surreal Geysir geothermal area on foot, stopping at bubbling ponds, steam vents, and Geysir and Strokkur geysers. Stick around long enough to watch the Strokkur geyser erupt (around every 10 minutes), spurting a column of water up to 98 foot (30 meters) in the air

The next destination is Gullfoss – the Golden Waterfall, where the waters of the mighty Hvíta (white) river are swept into a 70 meters deep canyon.

After enjoyable hike around falls hop back on the bus for the journey to the lake-filled, 3,000-year-old Kerid crater. Stop to marvel at its magical-looking lake and colorful slopes.

A drive through Reykjanes Peninsula admiring vast lava fields, cone volcanoes and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean before we arrive in the Blue Lagoon.

(OPTIONAL) If you select to end your day at Hvammsvík Baths, the bus will head towards stunning Whale Fjord where the SPA is located. There, you can immerse yourself in the perfect combination of geothermal water from 1400 meters below the surface and seawater from the nearby Atlantic Ocean. This extraordinary blend of water forms a continuous flow that cascades between pools, spills over their edges, and returns to the ocean, guaranteeing exceptional water quality and purity.

(OPTIONAL) The Sky Lagoon is Iceland’s newest spa experience. We’ll bring you here for two luxurious hours, and you’ll enjoy yourself wallowing in an enormous infinity pool with unobstructed ocean views. There’s a swim-up bar hidden in a cave, and a warm waterfall to enjoy!

(OPTIONAL) Up to visit an iconic Blue Lagoon Lava Fields & SPA? You can choose to head inside the SPA (select a proper option during booking process) to enjoy a soak in the steamy waters while admiring surrounding lava fields, or (if you do not wish to swim there) take a walk around lava fields and visit the skin care products store or restaurant.

Too bad there are not more stars in the rating to choose. This tour is 11 hours long. The driver/tour guide is one of the best we have ever experienced. The Golden Circle tour gives one a good overview of this part of Iceland and gives insight into the country’s infrastructure and culture. The tour has an excellent mix of structure and free time and we never felt rushed at any of the stops. The food, snack, shopping available was all very good. Our driver changed the normal order of the stops and avoided traffic and cruise ship crowds (Yeah!). The visit to the thermal spa was terrific and some of our party (not me though) dunked in the very cold ocean after time in the hot-tub. Our 11 and 13 year old grandchildren had a great time. In our opinion, the tour price we paid represents a very good value.

Our guide, Filip, made this trip so much fun! He was so knowledgable and kept the drive interesting and engaging for my 82 year old dad and my 21 year old daughter and myself. A great tour of a beautiful country!

Our family of six went yesterday with a fantastic guide named Thora. She was knowledgeable, entertaining, and, most of all, she kept our family safe during high winds and volcanic activity. (Although, the tour was nowhere near any lava action.) Here is the deal if you take the time to read reviews: my daughter and I scoured reviews when planning our trip. THIS IS THE TOUR YOU WANT TO BOOK! There were so many little extras, fresh Icelandic bread and boiling an egg in a geyser, stopping at a horse farm to pet Icelandic horses, and so much more that ISN'T LISTED THAT IS ABOVE AND BEYOND. We took our adult children in their 20s, and they had a great day. Ending our trip with a trip to the hot springs for a soak, sip, and a sandwich was the highlight of our entire vacation.

Do yourself a favor, let them do the work, and book this tour. My only negative comment is that I didn't have Euros to tip her. She was phenomenal. NiceTravel, you may Venmo me a request. She's brilliant and needs a raise.

Our first time to Iceland! Loved learning about Iceland & all the amazing places to explore on the Golden Circle. Our tour guide, Elias, was wonderful & obvious that he's proud of his country. He has worked hard to get to know about the locals on the Golden Circle, shared stories & extra stops, going above & beyond for us!

Christina made the tour fantastic for everyone on board. She provided options for all mobility levels and shared her extensive knowledge of the area, history and stories as only a native Icelandic person could.
