Explore Mount Etna on tour from Catania! You will be introduced to the landscapes and geology of the Volcano from our naturalistic and passionate guide.
Following a hiking route up to 2000 meters, you will have the chance to admire forests, craters, lava formations, and scenic views of the mountain.
You will visit a volcanic cave using the equipment provided from us (helmets and torches).
After the trekking, you will stop at a nice Chalet, where you will enjoy a rustic lunch made with local products (starter and first course) together with a good glass of Sicilian red wine. It is possible to arrange, upon request, a suitable dish to vegetarians and coeliacs.
Then we will move to the amazing Alcantara River Gorges to discover more of Sicily's natural beauty.
The tour is in Italian and English. Upon request also in Spanish and French.

Excellent tour. Tye right amount of time at each location. Depending on the weather take a light jacket and wear pants. Take a bathing suit and recommend swim shoes or flip flops. Take the guide up on the offer of hiking shoes.

We spent a fabulous day with Marco as our guide. His knowledge of Mt Etna was excellent and he made sure all our needs were met throughout the day. The visit to Alcantara Gorge was a highlight for us.

We loved the whole experience.
The organizors helped us to find the right tour, as this day was a special occosion to us.
Our guide, Danilo was very nice, passionate, attentive and well-prepared.
The Etna Wine and Alcantara tour was a very good combination of experiencing and learning about an active vulcano, and enjoying local products and have a nice time in a special place.

I am remembering this wonderful trip I had last November at Mount Etna and I had to check in and leave a review. This was a memorable journey: the volcano, the lunch at the winery, the wine, and the river. An absolute delight hosted by a very knowledgeable guide called Marco, who made the day a 10 out of 10. Would repeat with Sicily by day 100%

Our guide Emiliano created a spectacular day for us. He was informative, always ensuring our needs were met and was very passionate about his job and Sicily. Mt. Etna hike was awe inspiring and informative. The cave tour was great and the wine tasting fantastic!! Lucia was our host at the winery. The food and wine were exquisite. Finished with a visit to the Alcantara River and gorges. Beautiful!

Such a great day out with Etnapeople small group tours. Our guide, Tony, made the day not just informative but fun too. And Etna was blowing smoke rings, a fairly rare sight! We couldn't go too high due to the recent eruption on 12th November, but still had an amazing time exploring the lower craters, a lava tube & then Alcantara gorge. Boots, poles & jackets were included, and a good lunch with wine tasting.

Amazing company and tour. I originally booked the tour for 4 of us, but as more and more of the group of friends I was with heard about it, I was emailing Flavia almost daily, going from 4 to 8, to 16, to 20 to finally 24 people and getting a large bus for a private tour. She couldn't have been more accommodating with all the back and forth. I was communicating by whatsapp and email (I don't have international calling) and there was no communication/language issue at all (meaning her english was excellent as I don't speak italian). I was so pleased with her that I not only booked the Syracuse/Ortigia and Nota tour through their sicilydaybyday.com company but booked our airport transfers through them. All went smoothly - even considering my flight was delayed to Catania, and mine was the last bag off the plane after a long baggage delay. While i was upset they just texted me asking for an update and no worries they would wait. For payment, while I gave them my credit card when booking the tours via their website, nothing was charged until the event.
As for the tour, it was amazing, and the best part was the winery we had lunch at - it was an amazing full meal with the best white wine of my entire Italy/Sicily trip, so good I brought 2 bottles home and friends had it shipped. For those interested in the tour, I will say, Mt Etna is a mountain and people need to understand that the drive up is along winding narrow roads with switchbacks, so for those with sensitive stomachs/get car sick be forewarned (and this is an aside from the tour as any company would need to get up the mountain).
