A big compliment to our guide, Joel. He told us neither too much nor too little, lots of interesting and useful information about the country. We really enjoyed it, keep it up! 👍
It is a balanced trip with a beautiful view of the mountains, a stop at a beautiful waterfall where you can also swim, a boat trip through mangrove forests and a short tour of hell.
The lunch was very tasty with a good selection (local cuisine) at the waterfall.
The SPA could be the bath at the waterfall, you can massage yourself with clay there, which we found very soothing.
All in all, it was a lot of fun and is highly recommended if you want to see something of the country.
You should be reasonably good on foot and have some sturdy shoes with you (no panties).

The nature was super beautiful :)
The lunch at the ranch was also great!
Everyone was really friendly and nice.
The tour guide Susi was also great - very informative and interesting & super authentic.
Unfortunately half of the trip was bus rides :l
Hence a minus point.

The journey to the region from Punta Cana takes almost three hours, which is acceptable. In total, we spent 11 hours on the bus out of a 14-hour excursion.
The German tour guide Susi was very good and told us a lot about the country and its people during the journey. The driver, Jose, also did a very good job.
The first stop was a 300-meter hill where you are transported up and down in a truck, with near-death experiences and bruises. The half-hour view was not worth it.
The second stop, the waterfall spa, was very nice, there was an insight into the cocoa processing with tasting and a few explanations of the local flora and fauna. With swimming and eating, the allotted time was unfortunately so short that we couldn't enjoy the freshly brewed cocoa at all.
For the mangroves, you went straight onto a boat where you could see a bit of the beautiful nature and the water birds, the cave at the end was quite nice, although it felt like you could visit it in 10 minutes.
You should pack plenty of water and something to eat, as supplies are quite limited.
The whole thing was accompanied by a photographer who tried very hard to take nice photos that you could then have digitally transferred to your cell phone. Unfortunately, the price for this is a bit outrageous (65 USD for around 60 pictures), as the gate for the three of us (2 adults and 1 nine-year-old child) already cost almost 400 USD, which is admittedly a hefty price.

We booked this tour to get more insight into the interior of the country and were not disappointed. Our guide Segundo and his driver Rafael were excellent tour guides. Segundo made a lot of effort to explain to us about the culture, the country, the people and nature whenever possible. The "finale" of the tour at the Yanigua waterfall was also a highlight. A wonderful spot in the middle of the Dominican rainforest with a delicious lunch prepared on site by the locals. There was also fresh coffee and cocoa from local cultivation - highly recommended. There was also an insight into the traditional production.

All in all, an absolutely recommendable tour with wonderful nature that amazes you wherever you look and a great tour guide who always has a good saying ready.
