Our guide was from Kyoto and was born into a Japanese confectionery shop, so we learned a lot about Kyoto's history and sweets. He also told us about many hidden gems, such as Shinsenen, where Kobo Daishi prayed for rain, and Takenobu Inari Shrine, which is associated with Issun-boshi, and we were able to discover new charms of Kyoto.
