Niemeyer's chef-d’oeuvres at Niteroi are simply majestic (both the Museum and Niemeyer’s Path.) The views on both sites are just amazing, The collection although small at the museum is nonetheless relevant and worth visiting. Camilo, a fluent English speaker, was the perfect companion for this exquisite tour. I strongly recommend adding this tour to your schedule, especially the architectural lovers.

Niemeyer's futuristic shape is a landmark in museums. The red walkway symbolising red carpet and inclusiveness. There is a stunning view. The extensive collection is mainly from art collector, João Sattamini. It is the 2nd largest collection of contemporary art in Brazil. The museum is a definite must for the whole family when in Rio.

The museum of contemporary art was a disappointment. The building designed by Oscar Niemeyer is quite eye-catching with its futuristic shape and idyllic locale overlooking the bay. What was disappointing was the poor use of the space for showing contemporary art, of which there are vast examples throughout Brazil. Inside the building was a curtain-covered interior filled with very little art, and I still don’t fully understand why.
There was a free-standing art exhibit outside the museum. On the inside, there were six contemporary art pieces in a space that could have housed so much more.
That said, the site is breathtaking, and hopefully, the art selection will improve, so do not take this off your list of things to see in Brazil.

Located in the bay of Rio, beautiful setting with great views including the sugar loaf. Very interesting architecture, both outside and inside. The exhibitions are ok, but the real thing is Niemeyers architecture, definitely a top sight in the region!

my guide Camilo introduced me to a beautiful one-day tour, a different way of living Rio not only made up of beaches and sun, its very interesting and its notes, and what to say the rest was done by the city , I recommend this tour for its interesting things and for the availability and kindness of Camilo

During my first week in Rio de Janerio I scheduled 4 tours that I enjoyed: all day city tour, Tijuca by Jeep Rainforest/Botanical Garden, Santa Theresa Walking Tour & Camilo's Museums of Modern Art - excellent opportunity to visit Niterói & see some stunning architecture. Obrigado Camilo.

The Tours of both the Niteroi Way and Contemporary Art Museum by Niemeyer were exceptional. At each, our amazing guide Camillo worked with local artists in residence (and interns) to provide us with a unique viewpoint on the site. In addition, the younger generation was able to detail aspects of their history that they have learned and are not destined to forget. Very good tour and extremely positive experience for engaging with real locals. I would definitely recommend this tour for architecture and art minded patrons with engagement as a goal.
