Our guests consider this trip to be the best in our offer, so that's the reason we named it this way. This is a great opportunity to feel old Montenegro and taste the traditional food in the mountain but close to the coastline and with a view of the Boka Bay...

The first viewpoint of the tour is above the Jaz beach in Budva Riviera. The Riviera is the most beautiful part of the coast, so we will stay here for a while visiting the old town of Budva and take a shot of the island Sveti Stefan.

Then, we go up the hill to the old Royal Capital of Montenegro from where the road leads us to the village of Njegusi and a chance to taste local cuisine. Via a famous road with its 25 serpentine enchanting views of the Boka Bay we head back to the shore.

Note: Similar tour can be arrange with the start from Bar cruise port.

Note: If you need more tour ideas for additional days while in Montenegro, feel free to message us after booking this tour. We also do airport transfers.

Our guide Andrija was very nice and informative. A high school history teacher, he gave us all the history we needed on our first visit. We had him for a private tour and he was accommodating to meet our tour desires. Why 4 and not 5 stars? Reasons out of his and the company’s control — the traffic making leaving the port and returning somewhat stressful. A good portion of our day was “lost” due to poor infrastructure. Also, as a side note, there are not many English speaking natives at the beach facilities for example. It was one of the most beautiful ports we’ve sailed into. A tender from our boat was needed.

In 2023 we went on our first cruise opting for the eastern Mediterranean in order to take in several destinations that we had always meant to try and never quite got around to it. We visited Ravenna (Italy), Koper (Slovenia), Split and Dubrovnik (Croatia), Kotor (Montenegro} and the Greek islands of Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes (only destination we had been previously), Crete and the Greek mainland.
Before we embarked on the cruise we declared that wherever we liked best would be the destination for our 2024 holiday.
Montenegro won hands down! The scenery as we sailed through the Bay of Kotor was both breathtaking and unique. Majestic mountains, forests and pretty villages in abundance
Kotor proved to be the highlight. and we were keen to revisit this year. A charming centuries old walled town with interesting architecture, quality bars and restaurants and boutique shops.
New for 2024 is a chair lift which takes you from Kotor up to the highest mountain peak offering outstanding views of the city and the bay.
Tivat/Porto Montenegro is also well worth a visit. Virtually rebuilt since 1991 it offers a beautiful marina and classy shops and restaurants.

Catarina (?spelling) was a great guide. She was knowledgeable, relaxed, and accommodating. The day tour included many top sights of Kotor. Our driver Majo (?spelling) was safe and considerate, especially in the awesome winding mountain cliff drive part of the tour. Great value for a day tour of Kotor for families. Highly recommended.

Great tour with a fabulous guide. George was A++++++. Really pleasant company and fun time out. The tour was pitched to the best level possible as some of our tour had preknowledge of the area and the other none, but it was skilfully pitched and a great time had by all. Fantastic way to discover this country.

We had a fantastic day with our guide George. He was so knowledgeable about his country and shared so much about the history of Montenegro. He also had an interest in our lives too. We toured several cities by car. He took us to the top of the Mountain where we could look down into the beautiful bays. We stopped in a small village that is known for producing prosciutto and smoked cheese. We dined on this fabulous treat that takes nearly a year to produce. Coming back down the mountain involved riding along a road with 25 hairpin turns and fantastic views! We did this tour as a couple but it would be fine with a larger group. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see the sites outside of the Bay of Kotor but also get a bird's eye view of the bays.

This was definitely one of our highlights of our Montenegro trip! George was amazing and was absolutely hilarious. We had such an amazing time with him, he almost felt like family! He was super knowledgeable and introduced us to a lot of the old and new culture of Montenegro. I would 100% book this excursion again!

The tour was excellent. There was a discrepancy in the description of the tour I booked on Viator vs what could be included. The tour guide notified me of this issue at pick up and provided recommendations for what we should do. This was disappointing, but could be avoided by confirming the itinerary you want with the company after you book…especially if you book through Viator.
Our guide was wonderful. Lots of great picture stops and good information about the places we visited.
Recommend, with the caveat above.

Sanja was wonderful -- gave us an exceptional tour of Montenegro's highlights. She grew up here and still lives here and her knowledge of and passion for the country is unsurpassed. We only wish we had more days to stay in Montenegro to visit the rest of this beautiful country! This is a wonderful tour for those, like us, who arrived in Kotor via cruise ship. But also be sure to spend time on your own, as we did, exploring the historic walled city inside the fortress directly across from the port -- it's a magical place.
