One of the holiest places in Christianity, Vatican City is a tribute to a spiritual endeavor and a history spanning more than two millennia. As the resting place of the Apostle Saint Peter, the first in a continuous line of Roman Pontiffs, and a significant pilgrimage center, the Vatican is intrinsically related to the history of Christianity.

In addition, it is a perfect piece of art and a shining example of Baroque and Renaissance art. In the sixteenth century, it started to have a significant influence on the development of the arts.

The state was granted territorial authority over 44 hectares in the center of Rome by the Lateran Treaty, which was signed on February 11, 1929, and founded the independent state.

This was a wonderful experience my family. They even gave us some great advice on how to get into the St. Peter's while skipping the line.

We bought the “skip the line” tickets and waited in line for 45 minutes. Our person we purchased our tour through (I will call him our host) called an hour before our tour and told us to come early and he would get us in early. Instead he pointed where we should go and left and the Vatican security said “no early entrance”and we were made to wait until the time printed on our tickets. Our host also told us to go through a door on the right after leaving the Sistine chapel to go on to Saint Peter’s basilica and the security would not allow it so we had to go WAIT IN LINE AGAIN. Do not buy these tickets they are a total rip off.

Magnificent but too bad a scam!
I had tickets worth €125 even though I paid €430.
Details: 3 weeks before the stay, fewer places available, I went through tripvasor, who directed me to viator who directed me to a reseller.
Good margin for the reseller,
Plan to book your tickets online on the official sites very early for availability and avoid these bidding wars!!!

The museum itself was amazing, but the markup you pay for the tickets is crazy. These tour operators act as middlemen by buying up the online tickets and reselling them. This particular museum at least was perhaps worth it since the ticket line was massive and we probably would have had to wait in line for an hour or two from the look of it. The people we interacted with to redeem the tickets weren’t particularly friendly and also gave us tickets for an entry a couple hours later than we had booked. So overall a mixed bag. You might be better off trying to get to the ticket office early and buying one in person for a more reasonable price if you don’t want to feel like you’re being taken advantage of. On the other hand you do get some convenience for paying extra.
