The tour departs from the cruise terminal in the direction of Savoca (approximately 40 minutes by road).
Savoca is the town where the film The Godfather was filmed. We will see all the most iconic places such as the Vitelli bar and the cathedral where Michael Corleone got married.
After about an hour we leave to go to Castelmola (about 30 minutes from Savoca).
Castelmola is a small village on the top of Taormina with a wonderful view of Mount Etna.
After about an hour we move to Taormina, one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, reachable only on foot and full of shops and restaurants.
After about 2 or 3 hours we return to Messina, but not before a nice panoramic tour of Isola Bella.
As a last stop, we will visit the Sanctuary of Christ the King, a panoramic point over the Strait of Messina, and the Duomo cathedral, where you can admire the largest astronomical clock in Europe.
The timetable is designed to make the most of your time in Sicily and to be perfectly on time with the cruise ship.

What an incredible day!! I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our tour of Sicily and the coast. For us, Taormina was the highlight. I could have spent all day there!

This tour was the perfect! Jenni and our driver were kind and made sure everything went smoothly the whole day. They took us everywhere we wanted to go and gave us tips and tricks along the way. The Godfather Movie set was incredible and so was the town of Taormina! They took our picture at all the best spots and suggested the best food shops. The beach they suggested was spectacular with clear warm water. The made sure the day was perfect and we couldn't be more thankful. Do not hesitate to book this tour. This has been the best part of our Italy trip so far!

Incredible! FAVORITE by far!
We arrived my cruise in Messina, our guide Sylina and driver Jakamo were waiting right for us. Will always go private and not book with cruise. We have much better experiences.
You never know what you are going to get when you book on line, however I would not hesitate, this tour out of all we have been on was the best.
We were a party of 9; they know how to get around all of the great spots and move ahead of large buses with secret ways.
We started in Mt Etna. This was beautiful, we stopped at a farm and bought honey, olive oil, olives etc. Beautiful shop.
There are craters all around mt etna, 2 are active. We had opportunity to walk one of the craters, but we declined.
From there we went to beautiful town Taormina, we had an amazing lunch (Sylina suggested the place). This town is a must see. Could have spent a couple days there...we will be back to enjoy more time!
From there we went back to Messina and visited the tower and some beautiful views. To finish the tour she brought us to bakery to taste fresh canoli and granta, it was amazing and all complimentary!
Sylina was a wealth of knowledge. She knows the history of everything. So interesting and knowledgeable....our group fell in love with her.
At the end we met the tour company owner Alberto, what a nice person.
We loved every minute! Thank you for a wonderful day. 💛

I booked a tour of Messina with Alberto for our group of 5. We were coming to port on NCL. From the first message, Alberto was prompt and responsive. We were met at the port as planned and off we went!! Alberto and his assistant Accensia (I hope I spelled that right) were awesome. We had the best day with them touring, laughing and of course eating. We saw so many beautiful sights. We were back to port with plenty of time to spare but not before we were treated to Granita and cannolis. I can honestly say this was one of the highlights of our trip and I’m looking forward to seeing Alberto on our next trip in October!!

We had the most amazing tour with Alberto in Sicily. He was very responsive to all questions beforehand and the meet up went as planned. He designed a lovely day for us , visiting Savocca , home of the Godfather. The most beautiful city in Sicily, Taormina, where we had lunch and time to look around and shop. We also visited the beautiful Castelmola. Alberto was a fantastic driver, many of the roads are very twisty and bring you high into the mountains. We finished the day with delicious cannoli and a trip to Messina cathedral. We arrived back to our cruise ship in plenty of time. Highly recommend both Alberto and this itinerary to see the best of Sicily.
