The Georgian Military Highway is an epic road that connects Georgia to Russia and runs through the breathtaking landscapes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains.

On our way to the high mountains, we will visit an absolutely beautiful fortress and church, with a fantastic view over the Zhinvali reservoir and a huge historical background.
3.
Just before Kazbegi Valley, we will be passing by the biggest ski resort in the Georgian Caucasus - Gauri. It's a great place to visit any season. We will stop by a road café to have some coffee, and will continue our road to the next stop!
4.
Beautiful monument of the so-called friendship between Georgia and Russia. The panoramic views are incredible and we will be taking a lot of beautiful pictures!
5.
Our hike will start from Kvemo Okrokana abandoned settlement, and will continue to the narrow Truso Gorge among Terek river.

Truso Valley is notable for its mineral springs. These springs leave fascinating traces across the landscape in the form of orange and red coloured travertine. Truly amazing experience, and lots of photos guaranteed!
7.
A small (but very deep > 100m) lake created by the carbon dioxide filled upward stream flowing to the surface from carbonate rocks of Upper Jurassic period. The lake “boils” loudly from carbon dioxide bubbles. Looks like a paysage from Mars.
8.
An ancien abandoned fortress with the slight look of Mordor. Fortress used to play a crucial role in defense of Truso gorge. The frontier goes to the former kingdom of Alania, today occupied by Russia.
