I’ve done this tour in the past and it was great. Sadly this time was incredibly disappointing. Our tour guide Dayana was late, and we spent almost an hour of the tour standing in various spots waiting for a good photo op of the guards walking down The Mall. Minimal interaction with guests during this time, and a lot of time spent texting on her phone. Little to no history was given on the tour, and what was said couldn’t be heard over a poor quality microphone - if you have to wait 25 mins for the Kings Horse Guards to return, that’s your opportunity to talk about the monarchy, or the royal residences nearby, or even the different regiments of guards. But no, nothing. We walked a lot of pointless circles near the Palace and by midday we hadn’t even left St James’ Park - that’s when we have up and left the tour. A disappointing morning and absolutely not worth our time.
