We had a great experience on this tour! Martin was an excellent guide and with his knowledge and experience, even though the weather wasn’t great, he took us to locations with clear skies where we got to see the aurora perfectly! He also was helpful with tips in photography and made us memorable photos! At the end of the tour he also prepared a bonfire and gave us snacks. We went on a big bus tour the day before but it isn’t anyway interesting and personalised as this tour here.

Martin is diligent and knowledgeable. He studies the conditions and adjusts the route accordingly. He brought hot drinks - greatly appreciated! He explains the pros and cons of staying in one place vs driving to a different location. His recommendations were solid; he found good locations and we saw magnificent lights.

I'll get the negatives out of the way first. We had made it clear to the tour operator that we were a party of 3 large males and a medium sized female, as well as asked for two XXXL, an XXL and a M for the thermal suits. So it made for an uncomfortable start when our guide, Marcin, showed up in a compact hatch back. Nonetheless, we squeezed in and were soon on our way to the first viewing point.

That was chaotic and disorienting as we were marched here and there and were being told to be careful on the treacherously deep snow. We were not given the promised headlamps so some of the party were struggling to see and navigate in the dark. The suits provided (two XXL and one XL) were too small; and in the cold and windy darkness we struggled to get them on. Marcin did assist, but although it now seems obvious, in the stress of the moment, a suggestion to take off our very bulky coats before putting on the thermal suits would have made them much more comfortable; and we would not look so much like michelin men in the final pictures, which is a pity.

BUT, and it is a big but, Marcin was an incredibly enthusiastic and informative guide, as well as a professional photographer. He helped my sister and I find the correct settings on our Apple and Android phones in order to capture our own shots, and gave a really deep insight into the factors that influence the behaviour of the Lights.

We had a naive and romatic notion that we would simply find an open place under the stars, light a small campfire and gaze up in awe at the show above. It isn't like that. As Marcin explained, it really is a *chase*, where you and one of the dozens of other groups race from location to location to capture the best views before it all finishes somewhere over the western horizon.

Once we understood this and the show above started to really get going, Marcin's enthusiasm became infectious and we were far more willing (and became better at) scrambling in and out of the car to get to the next location. We were fortunate to have almost perfect conditions and one of the best shows in weeks, and Marcin's skill with a camera is evident in the pictures.

I would definitely recommend Marcin and this tour to anyone looking to maximise their chances of catching the lights while in Tromsø. My only criticism is of the tour operator, for not providing the appropriate equipment (vehicle and clothing), which made the initial part of the evening far more stressful and frustrating than it needed to be.

On our first night here our guide Krzysztof/Chris gave us the most magical experience. We drove out towards Oldervik (about an hour from Tromso) in a car whilst Chris told us all about the Aurora Borelais. We were extremely lucky that when we arrived in the beautiful space he picked surrounded by mountains and no man made light the aurora were out in their full glory. Chris then took lots of photographs before we headed to some flat land where he made a bonfire and picnic for us. We will never forget the evening and Chris is such a calm and learned guide. Highly highly recommended.

I was unfortunately scammed using this company. This is advertised as a small group aurora chase with a highly experienced guide that will take you to some of the best spots to capture aurora photos and enjoy the phenomenon. We expected an experienced guide and comfortable vehicle to take us to a few good spots to photograph the aurora.

Instead, for $220 per person we were crushed into the 3-seat back of a tiny Audi A3 with another couple and a guide that had no idea where the good observing sites were.

The guide pulled off randomly on unsafe road shoulders to trek us over creeks and thin ice to rocky or slippery areas to photograph from. Areas where tripod setup was almost impossible. Meanwhile, we passed several larger van tours using accessible, safe and tripod-friendly spots for aurora viewing/photography.

The saddest part - the auroras were extremely active that night and there were no clouds. If only we had a decent guide and good tripod setup spots (literally the company’s only job in this case) we could have easily captured amazing photos. Instead I would have been better off hiking somewhere by Tromsø to watch the lights.

We had an AMAZING time on this tour. Our tour guide was so friendly and so knowledgeable! Our guide worked very hard with us and the weather to determine the perfect spot. After searching for a bit, we were able to find a spot and had a beautiful light show!! We were speechless! She took the most WONDERFUL photos of us— we will cherish the pictures forever!!!! They are unreal! We would recommend this tour to anyone! It was also so nice to be picked up and dropped off at your accommodation, many tours do not do this. We loved the small size of the group, it made it easy to work with others and the tour guide. Thank you all! Amazing!

Our guide, Martin, was the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! This was the third tour we went on in Tromso and Martin was, by far, the best guide we had. He was super knowledgeable, incredibly nice, and did everything possible to ensure we caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights, which we did! I highly recommend booking this tour and specifically asking for Martin!!!

The day was very cloudy, but Martin did everything possible so that we could see them and at the end of the night we managed to see the entire green sky. Spectacular. A ten to the guide for his perseverance and success in finding them. In addition, he was explaining to me how to set up the camera correctly and get impressive photos
