• The Cathedral of Florence is an “operating” church, and it can be closed to visitors for any liturgical reason, even without notice (for the funeral of a Cardinal, for example)
• Please be aware that the off season is an opportunity for restoration work, often unannounced.
• Visitors are advised that the Baptistery is undergoing restoration of the mosaics of the vault. We apologize for the inconvenience.
• Entry to the Cathedral is not guaranteed as the Cathedral is a working church and hours can change without notice due to liturgical or other reasons.
• Please note that backpacks of any size or dimension, and any bag designed to be worn on the back, are not allowed.
• Florence can be very warm in the summer. Please be advised that this tour includes portions that are outside and could be in the full sun. Please bring a hat, small umbrella, or sunscreen if you are sensitive to the sun.
• Clients must arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the tour. This is due to the timed entry of the tickets.
• Tickets are timed and expire within 5 to 10 minutes.
• Please be advised that it is not possible to join the tour after it has commenced.
• Please note that entry to Giotto's Bell Tower is not included unless the option is selected.
• Please note that the Cathedral is closed to all tourists on Sundays. Instead, we will visit the Ancient Basilica of Santa Reparata (the Crypt).

We learned a lot of history about the Baptistery and the outside of the Cathedral. The museum portion of the tour was also enlightening. There was some static on the communication device which made it challenging to hear at times but our guide did all he could to make sure we could hear him. He gave details on how to access the Bell Tower climb using our tickets which was a HIT! We loved being in the tower when the bells were ringing. Thank you for a friendly learning experience. We have a new appreciation of the Duomo. Baptistery, Bell Tower and Museum.

Fantastic tour! Wonderful knowledge shared; very thorough and efficiently run. Our group ages 18-54 were engaged and interested in this experience. So great to miss the long lines and get the enhancing information. Definitely recommend climbing the tower steps for beautiful views.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, answered lots of questions from the group with joy, told us local tips of where to eat or go, and shows incredible passion for her job and country. Climbing the Bell Tower and seeing the Duomo with Florence city and the mountains in the background was the highlight. I did as a solo traveller and really enjoyed this experience.

It was tough to understand the tour guide. Her English was just ok, monotone. It was challenging. But we were glad to have quick entry to the Duomo though we wish we had learned much more.

The tour guide arrived late and was disorganized. The tour started 20 minutes late. We did not receive individual tickets. She had all of them on her phone so at each entry point it took much time as she scanned the tickets one at a time. The museum was the most interesting as it had the original doors and statues from the Renaissance period. The baptistry was filled with scaffolding and roped off so there wasn't a lot to see. The inside of the duomo was roped off so we couldn't go into it at all, just a little around the stairs to the crypt. The inside is much less spectacular than the outside. The crypt was musty so we left due to allergies. Others left as well. Except for the museum, we were disappointed in this tour.

The tour guide arrived late so the tour started 20 minutes late. She and disorganized. Then before starting the tour several people had to take their bags to be checked. Then, at each entry, the tour guide had to scan each of our tickets individually, taking up much time. The museum was the most interesting as it has the original statues and doors from the Renaissance period. The baptistry was filled with scaffolding so it was hard to see anything or walk around. The outside of the duomo is much more interesting than the inside and it was roped off so we couldn't get a good view. The crypt was musty so we skipped it due to allergies. Tour started late and ended early. Disappointing.
