This is the only samurai sword experience in Tokyo where you would feel like a real samurai and have a real hands on sword experience different from some simple costume play. Many people come to Japan to learn about the history of samurai and fulfill their childhood dream of being a samurai and this is it.

Such a super fun family experience!
Our sword class with Ryo might be the highlight of our entire trip. We enjoyed the museum as well which was beautiful!

What a fantastic tour.
Jin was very knowledgeable, very much fun and open to all questions.
If you ever have a spare hour in Tokyo this has got to be on your "to-do" list.
Could not fault this tour in anyway.

Unfortunate parts. Came with my family of 5 assuming we would all be able to do the cutting with the Katana. Was informed after we started that my teenagers (15 & 16) could not participate in the cutting part. Did experience everything else though. Sensei spoke fluent English. Museum guide was a little hard to understand but his English is much better than my Japanese so no complaints. Would’ve picked a different experience if I knew about the age limitation. If they could have participated, then 5 stars.

Museum is situated in small building and parted to 4 floors. On the first floor you can make photo in samurai armor with a nice background image. There is also some history presentation. On the 2 floor you can see more of the history with a guide explaining everything. On 3 floor you can experience ninja shuriken throwing with some background story about ninjas and their equipment. And if you paid extra you can go to 4 floor where you get to cut tatami with authentic katana. My experience with cutting was very good. Feeling of the real sword has something overwhelming to it. Thanks to the sensei Ryo I managed to cut the tatami in one swing. I was surprised that I didn't feel any resistance in the cut and I really enjoyed it. It gives you an interesting feel of power and responsibility when you hold weapon like katana.

The tour with Jin was so informative and a lot of fun. I fully recommend this interactive tour, especially with tour guide Jin who makes the experience that much more enjoyable :)
