◆ Asakusa Sumo Stable

Asakusa Sumo Stable is a new place for experiencing Japanese culture, opened on January 19, 2024. The intention behind it is to provide an easy way for inbound customers to enjoy traditional Japanese culture and entertainment in Asakusa.
We recommend this plan for visitors who, feel tired after strolling through Nakamise-Dori Street or wish to enjoy sumo wrestling during lunch and aspire to see Sensoji Temple, Skytree, and sumo wrestling all in one day.

Everyone was nice, the "show" was funny but I had expectations for there to be some real culture to the show. It was cheesy, but again so hard to give this review because the people were so ice.

It was a brilliant evening. The team are super nice and the "show" was the right balance of entertainment and culture. The sumo wrestlers were very engaging, They allow you to take photos offer to take photos on your own phone without a problem.
The food was delicious. Great value for money. Top Tips. Bring some cash (2,000 yen plus) for a tip at the end - there is no hard sell but the tip basket is on the reception when you leave - honestly well worth every penny. We were also travelling as colleagues you get a photo at teh end with the sumo guys and Geisha, we did it together but realised we could have had it separately and two different photos instead we ended up with the same photo which had us both in! it was the BEST night and i wish i had done it sooner.

The food was great and the show was very entertaining! Highly recommend for families with kids. At the end of the show, they let audience members put in sumo costumes and try to fight the wrestlers.

For my 14-year-old daughter, this was her top experience of all the things we did over 10 days in Japan. The food presentation was exceptional. Only downside was the details relating to the location of the experience.
