Nicknamed 'the Dubrovnik Gibraltar', but also known as the Red Keep among the Game of Thrones fans, the Lovrijenac fortress rises on a cliff outside the Old Town city walls, 37 m (121 ft) above sea level. Built in the 11th century within just three months' time, this fort symbolizes the resistance to the Venetian Republic. Visiting the Lovrijenac fortress on this walking tour is a chance for you to enjoy many impressive views of the capital of the Seven Kingdoms.

Passing through the Pile Gate, the western entrance to the Old Town, you will reach the historical core of Dubrovnik. At some points, their height reaches 25 m (82 ft), so a walk along the walls is a must if you want to see those red rooftops of King's Landing or simply look out over Blackwater Bay.

If you go in the summer, book earlier due to heat and humidity. Prepare to climb some steep stairs, so have good shoes and take water. I think the tour could be done in two hours, but the guide did an excellent job!

Wow! Not only is this city absolutely stunning on its own, but it is so easy to tell that GoT had to use very little CGI and special effects because it is identical to King’s Landing in so many ways!!! Also, our tour guide gave us a whole refresher on the series and provided loads of pictures from the film that we could see in person. This is a MUST-DO for any GoT fans when in this city, whether you are a casual fan or obsessed.

This was a perfect day with Nikola as our guide. Luckily we had a small group and got the ultimate personal tour, no rush, plenty of time for photos, ask as many questions as needed, with Nijola being funny friendly and knowledgeable about the sites and scenes with background information.

We had wanted a tour that focused on the Experience Dubrovnik had while sharing their city with the Game Of Thrones creators and producers. Or guide did not disappoint! She had actually been an extra on the series so was able to share many fascinating and interesting points. She had also lived there her entire life and shared history that did not disappoint!

Sara our guide was absolutely amazing. So knowledgeable not just about GoT but also told us so much about Dubrovnik and Croatia in general. She had great details about the filming of the series and her experiences as an extra on the set.
