Wanted to go see Stonehenge, iconic highlight for England. Beautiful drive there seeing the country side. Amazing that it is in the middle of farm land with cows and sheep.

Excellent tour, plenty of time to explore the standing stones and the visitor centre, which has interesting exhibits including the reconstruction of the face of a man from 3000 BCE.

London may be the best tourist city in the world. So much to do and see. We had a wonderful visit. The best part of London travel is the tube and buses. The worst is housing. Also, great food and drink. Here are some pointers.

1. Buy an Oyster card (OC), either before you leave home (on the website, it arrives by mail in USA in 3-5.)or when you arrive.

2. Load the OC with money. 50 pounds for a week. You will use the card for bus, tube, and train travel. Under 15s are 1/2 price but needs to be prepared when you arrive.

3. Travel to downtown London on the Elizabeth line for 3.50 pounds, not the trains.

4. Be prepared for lots of walking—we averaged 17k a day—and climbing steps.

Beautiful views of Stonehenge. Glad we could walk around the stones and take photos. The weather was cool and glad we brought extra clothing.

Ottima esperienza. Posto mistico e servizio di trasporto impeccabile. L’autista Armando è stato molto gentile. Consigliato a tutti. Se andate a Londra ritaglitevi una mezza giornata per questa visita

Comfortable bus and a great driver. It was very crowded at the site so our time there felt short but overall a good experience.

We really liked the option of going to Stonehenge in the afternoon as we are not morning people. We boarded the Golden coach, and were very surprised to see how tight the seating was. We are 6’4” and 5’9”. So that made leg room pretty bad. We squeezed into a couple of seats 2 rows behind the washroom. It was a hot afternoon and the air conditioning was working well. Once the bus got going we discovered that the engines generated a lot of heat coming through the vents at floor level. The grill at ankle level got so hot that when I accidentally touched it with my leg, I was burned. The bus was quite full and there were no other seats. The ride from London to Stonehenge takes about 2 hrs, so this was a very uncomfortable ride. Worst of all was knowing we had this to look forward to for at least another 2 hrs back to London.

My husband and I hustled to the BUS TOUR near Victoria station to catch the tour bus to Stonehenge.
We were not sure where the bus stop was. There are many bus stops!

We boarded the bus with no problems.
The tour bus driver was expecting us. We were each given a box lunch. That was a nice surprise. It was not something we have ever had, a sandwich on white bread with some sort of onion and worstershire spread. I drank the box juice.
It was a long ride, but pleasant.

STONEHENGE was an enigma in WHO placed these rocks? And WHY?
We enjoyed the walk even on a cold, wind, misty day in late May.
We also enjoyed the educational exhibit on Stonehenge inside the building.
There are also a cafe, gift shop and restrooms available indoors.
