The kids of porpoise were beautiful with their babies and the weather was absolutely perfect. We came from Santa Clarita with 100+ temps so the cool escape was wonderful! My niece had never been in a boat or on the open ocean before and she thoroughly enjoyed it even though we didn’t see a whale. Memories were made. Goal reached!

We didn’t get to see any whales; but, we did get to see dolphins and sea lions! The trip was fun and still worth our time. Just dress warm for the morning trips!

We were able to see sea lions and common dolphins. One of our children was seasick but could fully enjoy their time aboard thanks to the lovely crew members in the cabin. Even my unruliest child had fun; thank you to the crew members for understanding and sending him straight to his grandma. It was an amazing trip from beginning to end. Thank you thank you!

I’ve been on many of these types of cruises, and this one was probably the least memorable. The value was there for me, but that’s not the only reason you choose to take a cruise like this. The cruise was written as a 2.5 -3 hour cruise. We left 10 minutes late and docked about 110 minutes after the sail began. The Cadillac catamaran was billed as a “Luxury Yacht” in the description. The vessel may be luxurious, but it has two hulls and not one. It may have been switched, but no mention was made. That said, the embarkation and debarkation were comfortable. It was a small group, which was a massive plus for me. This was a whale/dolphin-watching cruise. We saw several large pods of Common Dolphins. We saw no whales. But it seems as if no attempt was made to see any whales. It was an afternoon sailing, so whales may not have been anticipated, but again nothing was said. We came upon the dolphins, and from that point, the cruise was devoted entirely to heading directly into the pod, turning and heading into them again (at speed). The driver of the Cadillac said several times that the dolphins would not be harmed by driving head-on through the pod. “Let’s see if we can’t get them to do some things for us,” he said. As a human interreacting with wildlife, it bugged me a bit that we were attempting to make the dolphins (some with newborns) “do things” for us.
In the end, CONS: No attempt was seemingly made to see whales (according to posts at the dock, whales had been spotted this same week). The driver could use a more extensive set of facts to work from as he gave a number of repetitive statements, and it seemed the points of interest were minimal. The cruise length was about 66%-80%, as promised. The crew was unseen until the tip bucket was placed. PROS: We saw dolphins as promised. A small group of passengers onboard, easy on and off. A good value for the price. Overall, it was a pleasant sail.
Would I use this company again? No.

Being out on the ocean with my kids. Wish we would have seen some whales or more of the dolphins, but it was still fun.

There needs to be something in the description warning of the 2-3 Hrs it takes to find a parking spot, this is not an exaggeration many others there complained of the same. We were supposed to be on the 3 pm and didn't get in until 6 om after being moved to a different operator and they had 5 spots available at the last min from no shows (probably due to parking) The captain and ship were great but all we saw were 2 dolphins and some sea lions for the ~400 price tag absolutely not worth it. I understand it's not guaranteed to see whales but the price could better reflect the mediocre experience.

We had a beautiful time we did not see any whales but a lot of dolphins and got good videos .also, we went on a walk to Balboa Park ate lunch on the ocean. Then we went to the beach.what a great day

This is my second whale watch with this organization. The first time we only saw dolphins. The second time the weather was clear but we briefly saw one Minky whale in the distance and common dolphins. I’ve never seen one of the bigger whales in person, and hoped I would. So it was disappointing. The staff on the vessel were wonderful, the ride on the Pacific was also very relaxing. Just very little by means of Whales. 😢

This trip was disappointing, albeit the the company was well-organized and friendly, and the PA system was clear. We saw very little on the trip. We were told we saw a whale/whales, but we could only see fins and bubbles every so often in one area. The animals were described as huge, but looked small. This was a waste time and money.
