Small-Group Road to Hana Luxury Tour

My husband and I took this trip during our stay on Maui. We ended up being the only guests on the tour that felt quite luxurious. Our host/driver was Paul. He was extremely good, very knowledgeable, very attentive, excellent and experienced driver. We liked the trip very much although it rained almost the entire time. The only thing we might mention is that the tour is a bit overpriced.

Randy was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and personable. My family had a wonderful time! We stopped at 8ish locations along the way and each one was interesting and fun.

INCREDIBLE TOUR. 10/10 recommend. I really recommend Ray. He really made this tour an amazing experience. Each stop was beautiful and such a unique experience. The culture and community you get to experience along the way is amazing. Ray really makes sure you understand the importance of the Hawaiian culture and respecting the land, the people, values, and culture which I love and believe every visitor needs to experience how to be the best visitor they can. Learned a lot of history as well. I have diagnosed ADHD so learning, specifically about history, can be difficult but Ray was very engaging when sharing stories and history and island knowledge. 10/10 experience. The restaurants and local small businesses were wonderful. Just overall super culturally enriching and just left us feeling captivated by Hawaii, Maui, and Hana.

Our driver, Ray, was an awesome guide. He told us lots of history which our family loved. While he gave us the culture, he also relates to us since he moved here and wasn’t born in Hawaii. It felt more personal especially since we were on the Road to Hana Deluxe. He stated that we were a family which made it feel like a personalized experience no matter who you are. He was so personable and approachable. He seemed to genuinely care about what info was given and how he presented it. He created a memory that we will cherish forever.

Road to Hana was awesome. Our tour guide Steve Moore made this experience one of a lifetime. He was able to name all the plants and explain in depth where and how the plants were now in Hawaii. The was funny and very helpful. Wonderful experience and would recommend The road to Hana to everyone.

This was an amazing tour. We are glad that we did not do the driving because those roads are long, windy and narrow! Adam was a safe and knowledgeable driver. He took the time to show us so many different and cool things on the Road to Hana. We especially liked the Ke'anae Point, black sand beach, lava tube and all the waterfalls! Definitely buy some banana bread when you get a chance- made for a delicious part of our breakfast the next morning. Definitely recommend going on this one!

Debated whether to save money and do the drive ourselves. After reading reviews and a guidebook, we spent the money on the semi private tour. We were all so glad we did. Our tour guide Sue was excellent and went the extra mile to make sure we had a great time. I would highly recommend!

We recommend enjoying this drive with someone experienced so you can enjoy the view, it is worth it. Our guide was Adam, and he was a refreshing laid back change from the hype it up, rah rah tour guide. He was a careful driver, a knowledgeable Hawaii native, and displayed a genuine love for Maui and appreciation for us. He didn't rush us, so we got to take the time for the lava tube, black sand beach, swimming under a waterfall and sea turtles. It was a great day, maybe our favorite of the vacation.

Josh was very attentive to our comfort, including umbrellas for the frequent drizzle on and off that day. There was enough sun to enjoy the trip, with the highlight being the black sand beach. Multiple stops for viewing and photos. So many types of vegetation. Josh was very knowledgeable about the island and provided so much information about all that we saw. So much green and terrific views. The van was roomy and comfy and so much better than driving ourselves.

An absolute perfect start to our vacation to Maui! We had received such dire warnings about driving this iconic Hawaiian route that we debated about even including it in our itinerary. Fortunately, we elected to make this trip on our first day in Maui with Temptation Tours' fantastic and experienced driver and guide Paul Janes-Brown. As Paul navigated the infamous twists and turns, we were riveted not only by the breathtaking beauty around every bend but by Paul's narration of local lore, Hawaiian history, present day culture, ecology, who's who and what's what in the Pacific paradise. We saw hidden scenic treasures, enjoyed a stop for the best banana bread in Maui, swam at the Black Sand Beach at Wai'anapananpa State Park, were served a gourmet picnic lunch at Hana Bay, had family photos taken at waterfalls and pools, and watched sea turtles and windsurfers along the shore at Ho'okipa. This day's experience really added context for the rest of our stay in Maui. Paul's information about Maui led us to a more interesting and magical visit than we had originally planned. So many great memories were made. Thank you, Paul Janes-Brown, for one of the Best Family Vacations Ever!!
