We chose a smaller boat to go out to the reef rather than get on the big Quicksilver catamaran and we are so glad that we did! The weather the day we went was perfect which made it that much more enjoyable (wind makes for choppy water and unpleasant snorkelling). We are two adults and 2 kids (12 and 15). Everything was great - from booking to getting on the boat, the briefings and information session, getting snorkelling gear sorted and then the actual snorkelling. We snorkelled in two spots just near Mackay Cay and we also got to go onto the cay itself which was just outstanding and made for some awesome photos. Food onboard was really nice and plentiful. If we are ever in Port Douglas again I would for sure do this particular cruise again. There were about 40 people on the boat when we went (which is about the max apparently) and while it was busy there was still plenty of room to move around. The staff were great and very professional/friendly. I'm not a huge fan of deep water but the water was so clear and there was so much to see underwater that I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The kids and husband loved it too!

Fabulous day with Sailaway and the crew, totally professional, friendly, helpful and made you feel very comfortable. Snorkelling was amazing with turtles , stingrays and the lunch was delicious.
Had a memorable day and would definately do it again.

We absolutely loved our McKay cay adventure, our first time on the barrier reef. The crew were amazing, super attentive, knew their stuff and were so happy to be there. Isaac and Tess were just fantastic. Popping onto the sand cay was magical as was being able to see a turtle while snorkelling.
Food was great, lovely relaxed day. The boat itself was well kitted out, never felt crowded or like we were queing or waiting, was excellent.
Highly recommend this tour.

A fantastic full day out on the water. The crew were brilliant, very detailled in their safety instructions and always on hand to help whenever required. The boat wasn't overcrowded and in pristine condition. The snorkelling equipment was of high quality and the lunch & morning/afternoon teas were fantastic. A thoroughly enjoyable experience snorkelling in crystal clear waters surrounded by an abundance of fish.

Highly recommended, the staff we knowledgeable and patient with all visitors, with presentations on the type of Coral to expect, impact of the current environment and lastly the animal life we would expect to see.
he boat was roomy, comfortable and clean for the 40+ people. Lunch and snacks were provided with no complaints.
We will happily use Sailaway again for our next trip.

We had an awesome day out - the boat was lux, not crowded and the staff were friendly, informative and helpful. The reef was marvelous, shared with only one other small boat. Lunch was delicious. Overall a great day which I would highly recommend. We will definitely book this again.

This experience was better than I ever expected! The marine biologists on board giving us a review of what to expect was super interesting. I didn’t mind the tanning on the boat either.

My wife and I went out to Mackay Quay. The trip was really well organised, great sightseeing on the way,plenty of snorkelling at two sites and the staff were really knowledgeable . All up, we had a terrific day and would recommend
