Since James and Andrew opened our doors in 2012, we have been working hard to preserve one of New Zealand’s most unique and untouched forests. We created this experience to transport you into a Jurassic world, showcasing New Zealand’s unique plants and wildlife. You help this project; your entry contributes back to our conservation efforts to save this ancient world. Thank you for your support!

You will be part of a small group (maximum 10 per group) with two of our knowledgeable kiwi guides who will delight you, making sure you safely enjoy every moment. Ask as many questions as you'd like and capture the moments with pictures and videos (although we have free photos of your experience for you after the tour).

• Availability: This tour is for small groups of no more than 10 people. We will do our best to book you for your preferred departure time but due to other bookings, this may not always be available. If your preferred time is not available, we will contact you to offer an alternative departure
• Rotorua Canopy Tours Risk Disclosure Statement: Rotorua Canopy Tours is an adventure activity that has risks and the potential to encounter hazards due to the nature of the activity and the unpredictable natural environment in which the tour operates. Rotorua Canopy Tours operates a strict safety management system that is audited to New Zealand standards and best practice for adventure activities including weather operating parameters to reduce exposure to these risks and hazards; however, we cannot completely mitigate all of them. It is important you are aware of these and that these risks and hazards may lead to injury, serious harm or death. Specific hazards and risks include but are not limited to vehicle accidents, falls from height, zipline collisions, entanglement in equipment, slips and falls, falling debris, staff errors, suspension trauma, exposure to typical NZ conservation practices such as trapping and adverse weather effects due to varying environmental conditions that can change quickly and without much warning. Weather can include but not limited to thunderstorms, strong winds and gusts, rain, heavy rain, hail and occasionally snow, as well as extreme temperatures and humidity (seasonal depending). Rotorua Canopy Tours will provide wet weather and warmth gear if required and will not let anyone participate if not dressed appropriate for the forecasted weather. Physical requirements Participants must under 120kg (264.5lb), be comfortable with being at heights, able to walk on uneven terrain, cross swing bridges, and ascend up to 63flights of stairs. Participants should be well fed and hydrated before arriving. Participants should be prepared for physical demands if the tour needs to evacuate due to changes in weather or an emergency during the experience.  An evacuation would require walking up to 30 minutes on uneven forested trails with small inclines, declines, soft ground, and exposed tree roots. At most times during the experience, we are over one hour from the nearest hospital. Guests with a history of cardiac complications, those with low fitness levels who may be strained with the exertion of exercise, or those with any other significant health-related complexities who may require immediate help are at risk of not receiving treatment promptly. Individuals with such conditions should seriously consider whether they can complete the experience safely and comfortably. Emergency Services are not able to access most locations within the forest. Please contact us before booking if you have any concerns We take all practical steps to ensure your safety throughout the experience but by acknowledging this risk disclosure you and anyone you are booking for are aware that we can’t fully mitigate all risk and hazards and your safety cannot be fully guaranteed.

Love the conservation work these people do and admire their passion for saving our wildlife. Our tour guides, Jaz and Harry, were very professional and knowledgeable. Safety was paramount. I was scared right to the end but the rest of my family thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They want to do the next level zipline offered so we will be back for this at some stage.

Had an absolute blast! Everyone was super nice and accommodating. Service was a breeze and definitely felt safe in the hands of Amy and Andrew, who were amazing guides - very funny and rizz-tastic. Would highly recommend if you want a fun day out ziplining through the trees. Also loved to hear that part of the costs go towards looking after our native plant life 💕

It was an experience unlike I’ve had before. I was so nervous right to the end but the amazing guides Lisa and George made me feel very safe. It is inspiring to see wonderful groups working towards conservation as well as awareness. Congratulations to the team.

The experience was awesome and being in the forest so close to nature was exhilarating. The tour guides Jaz and Steph were exceptional giving clear instructions, guidance and encouragement all the way. Definitely something I would do again. It was also very encouraging to see the improvement of the forest by the work done. An experience you do not want to miss.

We are a family of 7 with three generations and our tour guides, Nina and Ash, made the experience unforgettable for each of us. we enjoyed it so much that we will definitely do the Ultimate experience if we ever get to return. In addition to the zip lining which was excellent, we learned about the conservation efforts and completely support their efforts. Highly recommend - it’s worth the time and money!

I would have rated it higher score if I could! My brother and I thoroughly enjoyed our exhilarating zip lining adventure in beautiful nature. Our superb guides Amy & Harry were exceptional - entertaining, fun, hilarious, but still very professional, educational and safety was paramount.
We had a lovely tour group, outnumbered by Americans! Everyone was very supportive and cheering each other on when some nerves /fear might appear as we reached higher heights and longer zip lines! My brother and I got to do Spider-Man pose on the final zip line - what an adrenalin rush!
We got to hand feed a cute robin called Gary which was amazing! He followed us a lot like a dog

We highly recommend anyone visiting Rotorua to join a canopy tour!
We want to do the ultimate tour next time!!

Mitch and George were AMAZING and need to do every tour together. We were on a trip through EF, and our group of 10 could not have had a better experience. We had so, so, SO much fun. We had pictures and videos and laughs- and they named a bird after one of our group members! Thank you both for the BEST day!!!!!!
