The hop on hop off trip was awesome! It was a great way to see the city in a safe comfortable and informative way. We added the Soweto add on was the best part of the trip and I highly recommend it for anyone doing this tour! The guides in Soweto were super nice and even took us to get Soweto gold beer! A beer brewed only in Soweto.

The tour commentary is inaccessible for the very hard of hearing, like my husband, who wears hearing aids. I was under the impression that we would be provided over-the-ear headphones that he can use with his hearing aids. Instead, we were provided in-the-ear headphones that he cannot use. What is really unfortunate is that he could have used his own headphones if he had known to bring them (he had brought them to use on the plane). Very disappointing. I had thought we would do the bus on two days; we only did one.
In addition, it was unclear that the shuttle from starting point to Sandton runs only twice daily. Fortunately, we were staying at the Radisson Blu Gautrain, in part to make it convenient to use the hop on/hop off bus, so that when we left the tour before the end of the day, it was easy to take the train from the home base point to the Sandton station, which is across the street from our hotel.

Convenient way to see all of Johannesburg! Make sure you get the Soweto extension-it was a lot of fun & I learned a lot!

We had 1 full day in Jo’Burg and used this to see the city. Highly recommend doing the Soweto tour too, that was probably the best part of this activity. Our guide was phenomenal.

The best experience I have had in Johannesburg. We did not get off the bus at all but just enjoyed the ride through Johannesburg. So well described with history of the town .

Good tour for just arriving in the city and not really knowing where to start. I did the separate Soweto tour add on and it was totally worth it! I had no idea it had so much history or that there was even a middle class there.
