This tour was excellent. It started at 8 am to avoid crowds and did just that. We pretty much waslked straight in to everything, yet we could see others queueing for hours by 9 am.

Our guide was very knowledgable and provided lots of insights into the Basilica, Museum, Dome and Sistine Chapel - yes we got to see the lot, it's a five hour tour.

On reflection, it might have been better to do the Museum on a different day because by the time we got to the Sistine Chapel we had seen so much amazing art and so much gold, we weren't able to appreciate it as much. That said, the Sistine Chapel was incredible.

Climbing the dome was a bonus. The views were spectacular, and lots of photos were taken. Inside the Basilica was just overwhelming and beautiful.

The tour may seem a bit long, but you do not realize this while you are on it. I had a 12- and 14-year-olds and they did not seem bored or tired. The climb to the top was the icing on the cake! The stairwell gets narrower as you climb. I am claustrophobic, but was still able to do it, and glad that I did. We had an early tour because of the heat. Georgia was our tour guide, and she did a wonderful job.

The host is extremely knowledgeable and have great sense of humour, making the tour interesting. The climb is very tiring n one has to be ready for it physically. Overall very informative and worthy.

The guide was excellent. Informative, kind, excellent English. Went early 8:00a when less crowded, especially for climbing the dome.

Excellent, organized tour. Even on a busy June day, we were able to slice through the crowds and see the most important sights and exhibits in the Basilica and museum. We were fortunate to have Chiara as our guide — as knowledgeable as she is funny. She has an appreciation for the history of the art and architecture and ensures everyone was getting the message. We had our 14-month-old grandson with us, which isn’t recommended (his parents had just arrived in country and were sacked out). But Chiara anointed him “The King,” and enlisted others in our group to help us bear his stroller up and down stairs. Also, the staff of the Basilica and museum were extremely accommodating of us, ensuring we got the most shaded waiting areas (so, maybe it is a good idea to bring a bambino with you).

During the busy summer season you need smaller groups to better stay together and navigate through the massive crowds. We had trouble keeping up with the tour guide because of the massive crowds.
Most of my family’s ear phones did not work and so we could not hear the tour guide.
Because of the massive crowds we missed many key features of St. Peter’s and the catacombs. I’ve been to the Vatican 3 times, I brought my kids this time, and this tour was the worst.
