In this experience, for the day we will do a loop around the valley by car making 3 major stops, 2 of them to visit 2 wineries, both very local and very intimate wineries with a local producer that will show us their vines and give us some of his products to try as regular wines, homemade Port wine, olive oil, tapenade, bread, jams, and seasonal fruits.
For Lunch, we will go to a small tavern at Pinhão and we will have 2 dishes, meat, and fish, salad, and drinks, amazing vegetarian and vegan options are possible too, we just need to know in advance.
To relax, we will have 1-hour boat cruise along the Douro River to see the wildest part of the vines and the very old wineries and terraces.
Arrival in Porto is around 6:30 PM

Exceptional experience. It was wonderful having a small group (only 8 of us). Great local visits with great wines. Our tour guide Andre was absolutely brilliant - he is a wine maker himself and knew everything about the region. He filled the day with great stories and tidbits. I would highly recommend this tour.

If you have a travel bucket list, and you love wine / vinho, put the Douro Valley at the very top of you list ... and be sure to book Joao as your tour guide on the day he is going to Dora's winery!🤩 This was, without a doubt, one of the best tours I've ever done in my 35+ years of travelling.
We were on the small group tour, so there were 8 of us, and Joao made it a treat from beginning to end! From the moment you begin driving into the Douro Valley, you will be spellbound. 🥰 The views of the terraced vineyards will leave you breathless ... I've never seen anything quite like it! Our first stop was a small family estate winery that was absolutely wonderful ... we tasted several different wines, and also olive oil and honey with delicious bread. It was perfect! From there, we headed into the quaint town of Pinhao, right on the shores of the Douro and took a beautiful, peaceful one-hour boat ride on the river, in a rabelo boat (these are replicas of the traditional Portuguese wooden cargo boat that was used for centuries to transport people and goods along the Douro River). After that, more spectacular scenery as we cross the river and drive to Dora's winery where she serves us appetizers, salad, a traditional Farmer's Pasta lunch, and dessert ... again with much wine (variety and quantity 😅). Every single bite was delicious and every sip amazing!
In addition, there are surprises from Joao throughout the day, but I will keep that a secret as to not spoil for others. So, so good!!! Fun, entertaining, interesting, educational ... this tour has everything you could possibly want. If you are spending any time in Porto, BOOK THIS TOUR!!! 🙌 I'd actually give it 10 stars if I could. 😊

I loved this wine tour as they picked smaller vineyards, each who shared a different and unique story and delivered a difference wine tasting experience all together. I think the lunch that was provided was ok (for vegetarian diet) but was hoping for a bit more substance - I would've even been ok with a standard baguette with cheese and tomatoes! The boat tour was beautiful but 1 hour just felt really long to see the same rolling hills, I much rather would have gone to a 3rd vineyard!

We had so much fun on our day long tour with our guide Juan. Excellent wine tastings at 2 gorgeous, smaller, family owned vineyards. Delicious lunch and a small group boat ride on the Douro River with amazing views of the surrounding terraced hills. Highly recommend this tour.

It was a wonderful time! The only thing was that we couldn't sit on the front part of the boat because there were no side protectors and seats were soaked. If there were plastic-covered sides, people still could have gone to the front of the boat and taken pictures. Andre was our host and he's phenomenal! Lunch - amazing restaurant. Wine tastings were lovely; gracious hosts - very informative visits
