The National Museum of Anthropology is a national museum of Mexico. It’s the largest and most visited museum in Mexico.

The museum is amazing, but without this tour, it is basically a huge collection of artifacts with some explanation in Spanish. The tour provides a storyline, and the details. Highly recommended. The guide's English was not perfect, but we picked most of it. By the way - after the tour, make sure to watch the multimedia film / show at the main lobby, it was very impressive.

Our guide, Alicia was excellent. Extremely knowledgeable & passionate about the history and symbolism behind the magnificent artifacts she highlighted, and of course the people and societies that birthed them. In addition she seemed to have a strong connection to many of exhibits/pieces & a great sense of humor which made it a personal and fun experience as well! We learned so much and can’t recommend her enough.
The museum is HUGE (impossible to see it all in any meaningful way in one day..or even a few!) and many of the plaques are in Spanish only so having a guide helped us contextualize what we were looking at and get a depth & breath of knowledge/experience without feeling overwhelmed.

Our tour guide was stand off"ish". She was upset we arrived a little late, we texted her , no one responded. Anyhow when we arrived, they were still organizing and we're still at ticket counter. We missed nothing. We arrived and she snapped saying" now I need to go back and buy 2 more tickets!". The ticket machine was literally behind her and it took 2 minutes for her to buy it. We apologized. Though we had left early enough from hotel.... No idea about how looking Mexico city traffic gets. Anyhow, the are other ways to act when folks are paying you. If we couldn't make it a simple" sorry you can no longer attend this tour" would have been understandable and we would've moved on, but the attitude! And also saying" my friends " every other word during the tour is not a war to earn a better tip. It got really annoying!

I took this same tour last summer and enjoyed it. This tour with the tour guide, Lily, was exceptional. I have a greater understanding of the history and interactions of various people's and the effect of the conquest. The tour guide provided context and connect relationships using artifacts and maps in the Anthropology Museum. Highly recommend

Andreas’ commentary was very informative. Most of the exhibits are in Spanish. Without a guided tour in English, I wouldn’t have appreciated the cultural heritage of Mexico.

Alexa was our guide and she was very knowledgeable! We left the tour feeling that we had learned important highlights from a museum that otherwise would have been fairly intimidating to tackle alone. Alexa also shared with us some personal perspectives on how she views her culture, and I really appreciated that.

The museum is regarded to be among the world's best, but the size and depth of the collection was intimidating to us. Our guide, a former university teacher, made the experience deeply impressionable and impactful. She was engaging, thoughtful, passionate, proud and knowledgeable. We learned so much more than we could have on our own - highly recommend.
