We will leave Mexico City first thing in the morning, to start our way to the Tolantongo Caves, in the state of Hidalgo.
Once there, take a bath in its hot springs, visit the caves, estuaries, pools and waterfalls of this incredible natural paradise located 1280 meters above sea level.
We will visit the “Hidden Paradise” section, made up of 40 thermal water pools and a pool with a slide. In addition, you will have access to the "Paradise Tunnel", which consists of a suspension bridge, and a restaurant area, zip line, etc.
With this tour suitable for the whole family, you will have the opportunity to spend a different day and combine the relaxation of the hot springs with hiking, adventure, etc.

Es un excelente lugar para relajarse y disfrutar de la naturaleza y las aguas termales, les recomiendo llevar zapatos para el agua, protector de agua para su celular y/o cámara GOPRO y una lampara para buceo o alguna otra que sea resistente al agua para poder iluminar si deciden entrar en las grutas

This was such an amazing experience! So worth it. So our day started off a little rocky because it was raining and seemed like it would be raining all day. Carlo was our tour guide and despite the rain, he worked around all of it and made sure we got to see everything. Some rain didnt ruin our fun! The pools were a little busy so be mindful that you wont have the place to yourself but I dont mind! Rene was our driver and I have to say I have never felt safer. The roads to the Grutas are windy and mountainous but he drove carefully and swiftly and I was not worried one bit! Worth every penny.

Alexa and the driver were AWESOME! Informative and professional and gave us plenty of time to experience Tolantango on our own. Took us to a spot for breakfast and to buy water shoes on the way. Just bring a towel, swimsuit, pesos and waterproof case (also for sale at water shoe spot). It was magical!!!

Going there was the best decision, it is spectacular, it is a shame that I couldn't stay one night, the truth is that it would be more enjoyable that way, it is quite a distance for one day, for those who go by public transport I recommend taking the 9 o'clock bus :30am from Ixmi so you can take advantage of the day, since the next route is at 11:30 am. I would return without hesitation but I would stay.

A beautiful place. One of those that you have to visit once in your life. If you want to spend a relaxing and comfortable day, you should go on a weekday. Check which days they provide maintenance because otherwise you will find some places closed.

It was a beautiful experience! Definitely just be prepared to climb a lot of stairs and bring water shoes! I used waterproof sandles and I felt like the water shoes would've been a better choice. The caves were super cool but pitch black, so you'll want to use your phone's flashlight or a headlight. A waterproof pouch for your phone is necessary. There were a good amount of kids and families there, but everyone was respectful of each other's space. Make sure you see everything while you're there: the hot springs, the river bed (my favorite), the waterfall and the caves. The drive from Mexico City was long and bumpy, but I'd say it's worth it. If your tour guide stops at Pastes Rikos on the way back make sure to try the pastes de arroz con leches, so yummy!

Although getting to the destination is a bit long from CDMX (3 hours there and 3 hours back), our guide Eduardo made us enjoy the trip with good conversation, interesting facts and good play. The thermal pools and river are definitely worth it. On Sundays they are quite busy with local tourism, much to improve in toilets and showers. It is worth sleeping in a nearby hotel. But we were delighted and eager to return!

We left Mexico City at 6am, we stopped at the GoMart to buy things for breakfast, it took us 3:30 hours to get there. It was Sunday and it was too crowded for my taste, but we had a great time, the landscape was beautiful, the guide Eduardo pampered us a lot and also since he is a photographer, we had a plus, good chat in the car and perfect music. Yes, I would do the trip again, but on a weekday and for 2 days with the same guide.
