This bridge of metal structure was built between 1881 and 1888 linking both cities, Porto and Gaia.

The station connects the Minho and Douro Valley railway lines. The building has french arquitecture traces which was designed by the portuguese architect José Marques da Silva and officially inaugurated on October 5th, 1916. This site is very well-known for its tile panels.

The market is one of the most emblematic markets in the city. It is a typical neoclassical building. The Bolhão market offers fresh local products. The market is organized by product areas which includes fish, meat, vegetables, fruits and flowers. Outside the building, there are a variety of coffee and clothes shops.

This historic coffee shop can be found in Santa Catarina street. This place resembles the Belle Epoque-era with carved wood, mirrors and chandellers. In 2011, this beautiful coffee shop was considered the sixth most beautiful coffee in the world.

Lello & Irmão Bookstore - This bookstore has been considered as one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world by several personalities and entities. The stairways served as inspiration for the Hogwarts’ stairways in the Harry Potter books, since JK Rowling lived in Porto.

The church and tower are great architectural examples of the 18th century. The tower is the trademark of the city. It was designed by the architect Nicolau Nasoni, both buildings have a Baroque style and since 1910 they are part of the National Monuments.

Ribeira Neighborhood - Ribeira is one of the oldest areas of the city. Located along the river, it integrates the list of UNESCO sites. This is a very popular area full of restaurants and bars.

The Porto Cathedral is located in the heart of the historic area and is one of the oldest monuments in Portugal.

Maria Vieira gave us an amazing walking tour. She was very knowledgable about the history of Porto and did a wonderful job customizing the tour. We had some older folks in our group and she was great about changing the trip around to utilize less stairs and more gentle climbs. She emailed us some great recommendations for food after the tour and overall was very easy to understand and made for an absolutely great tour guide. I would definitely recommend this tour, especially if being hosted by Maria. You can also book direct with Bluedragon tours and they offer bicycle, food and walking tours.

Despite the drizzle we had a charming walk with our host Barbara. The pace of the walk was perfect for those who do not like racing around and Barbara gave us ample time to take in the views, take photos at the various locations we stopped at.
We did the walk on our first day in Porto and found it a great way to get our bearings.
The group size was perfect as everyone could hear our host with ease.
The walk included a stop at a cafe for coffee which was included in the price.
Our group all thought the walk was good value for money.

Cannot recommend this tour enough. We saw so much in the three hours it was incredible. Barbara was a fantastic guide and gave us so much information throughout. I was lucky to be part of a really nice group of people and we all chatted along like old friends throughout the morning. I would never of got to see so many of the sights had I tried to do this alone so was absolutely perfect and 100% recommend to anyone.

Bonjour , nous avons démarré la visite guidée à Porto le 21 juin a 15 heures, au bout de 10 mn mon compagnon Georges ZABOLLONE est tombé . Votre guide a réagi avec efficacité pour appeler les urgences où il a été détecté une fracture de l'épaule.Le nécessaire a été fait pour l'envoi du courrier a votre adresse pour le remboursement de la visite aux urgences par votre assurance Allianz. Compte tenu de l'annulation de notre visite guidée dès le départ, pourriez nous nous rembourser le montant de 58 € réglé pour deux adultes, à savoir Yvette GUYOMARCH et Georges ZABOLLONE, Merci de votre réponse. Cristina was an excellent tour guide and this was a great walking tour! She painted interesting perspectives on the history and culture of Porto with a good walking tour. I also appreciated her local recommendations. I recommend doing this toward the start of your visit because it also provided a good geographic orientation to the city that was helpful later.
