It is a tour where lovers of history, politics, nature, and photography meet each other. In just 7 hours, you explore Georgian Sahara, Rainbow Mountains, David Gareji Lavra, and Lake. After all, you return to Tbilisi and finish the tour at 5 pm.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Traveler's Meeting Point - is a free space where you can meet new exciting people, play board games, listen to good music or enjoy a glass of wine.

The first place where you will stop is a shop to buy snacks. Since the area doesn't have good restaurants and we do not have a lunch stop, you should get some snacks not to feel too hungry and uncomfortable. And next, we go to a salty lake, where we have an outstanding possibility to take some nice pictures. The lake is on the way to David Gareji Lavra, and the views are astonishing for taking memorable photos. In total, for the shop and the lake, we will have 30 minutes.

After the lake, we continue driving through Udabno Village, translated as a desert. The area where we will be traveling is the only semidesert Georgia has, and it's more than amazing to see how diverse Georgian nature is.

We will start walking toward the famous Rainbow Mountains at the end of the driving. The most impressive feature of the landscape is the mineral-rich sedimentary rock, which looks like it’s been painted with brightly colored stripes. It’s possible to hike through the Rainbow Mountains, which astonish visitors with their colors. We will walk through the Rainbow Mountains, take many mesmerizing pictures, and prepare for the David Gareji Lavra historical tour. David Gareji Monastery Complex is one of the most spiritual places in the country. You will hear the stories of the monastery, do a bit of hiking and see a Georgian soldier at the border of Georgia and Azerbaijan. It’s believed that St. David chose this isolated location because he wanted his Disciples to lead a life of holiness independent from the rest of society.
5.
After David Gareji Lavra, you will return to Tbilisi and finish the tour at 5 pm.

We had the pleasure of traveling to the Rainbow Mountains and David Gareja Monastery with the guide named "Metro" and it was just fantastic! At first we were a little apprehensive about going on a touristy excursion, but Metro was so knowledgeable and friendly and the group size of 6 travelers was really perfect. Metro provided us with information about the sights and history of the region and also answered all kinds of questions and gave us additional information and insider tips about Georgia. The Rainbow Mountains were breathtakingly beautiful and the David Gareja Monastery was impressive and full of history. The tour was perfectly organized and we felt well looked after the whole time. The picnic with a view was lovely. Somehow this provider attracts many other great people. My sister and I can highly recommend this tour ♥️

It’s a fantastic trip and really away from the crowded touristy destinations in Georgia. It’s a beautiful place, with a rich history and legends well guided by our tour guide Victoria who made it very memorable. The hiking and the picnic lunch was the highlight of the trip.

We had a great time with Nicholas. He was funny and gave us a lot of information about the area. Please beware that there is a lot of hiking if you choose to go to the bottom of the Rainbow mountains, and the way up to David Gareja Can be very strenuous. It is definitely worth it though! Highly recommend!

It was our first time going on a tour with a guide and we were sceptical at first but then our guide Shoti turned out to be absolutely amazing at his job and very entertaining. We had a lot of fun and learned tons of Georgian stuff. Highly recommended!

The tour guide was very informative about the tour and Georgia generally. He made sure our group was safe and comfortable throughout. The scenery and monastery were worth seeing. The trip was well planned. I would use this tour company again.
