Our tour host will meet you at these world famous and old markets to begin your journey into Melbourne's dark past, starting with her first cemetery. Later, we stop at our first bar for a drink, but before that we learn more about Melbourne's obsession with ghosts and the macabre.

Stopping outside one of Melbourne's original gold rush pubs, we find out more about the history of morgues in Melbourne

Learn about this Gaol gruesome role in executing more than 135 men and women, the most haunted part of the Gaol, and its most famous resident! We also talk about the first men hanged in Melbourne.

Enter the world's oldest continuous Chinatown and discovery the scourge of crime, prostitution and opium that once plagued this area. Later we'll stop for a drink at one of the area's hidden laneway bars.

Step back in time to Melbourne's first marketplace - part farmers market, part freak show carnival - as we learn about the famous murder that took place here.

This is a fascinating and entertaining way to become familiar with this amazing city. The guides told some gripping yarns of Old Melbourne as we wander through the lanes and streets, painting a picture of a colourful past and their ghostly remains. This is an ideal tour not only for visitors, but for Melbourne residents. I was born and have grown up and lived here all my life and still learnt things that have changed the way that I look at my birthplace. I really enjoyed myself. The tour itself is expertly organised by a very professional crew and I can’t recommend this highly enough. There are some other tours offered as well, and I may do them at a later date. Check them out.

Guide picks the bars. You get handed menus without prices of items they want you to order. Kinda shady and annoying.

This trip was fun! Lenny knew so much, and his stories were entertaining and informative., with a side of humour. He knew so much! The boozy breaks brought the group together. The stores made me look at Melbourne with new eyes.

I had a lot of fun on this tour and our guide Brigette was great. Funny weird occasionally creepy stories and a great take on the history of Melbourne. The bars we visited were very cool. I would not have found them on my own.

Guide needed to be more experienced and presentable. Tour content very limited and boring. Explanation of time at bars etc needed to have been told before the tour set out.

Alda was a great guide and we had a fantastic time! We ended up going to the old jail later in the week based on the stories we heard. The jail was very interesting.
