Located southeast of Lower Antelope canyon by the gateway town of Page, AZ. This part of the canyon is chiseled out by millions of years’ worth of flood erosion and impactful winds on its sandstone, enough to sculpt out the iconic "X" shape that aptly named the canyon. Canyon X is a relatively new scenic tour and the lesser-known cousin of Upper/Lower Antelope Canyon, which results in fewer visitors by comparison to the other two.

Canyon X is a nice mixture of the characteristics of both Upper and Lower canyon, with the Upper’s feature of pillars of light and the Lower’s steepness. Canyon X is also deeper than the other two by comparison, and with it brings ample photo opportunities. It truly is a great vacation spot for photography as well.

Our experience was great. From check-in to drop off. Our tour guide Ethel was fabulous. Her knowledge of the canyon and the Navajo nation was so amazing.

Hayden was an excellent and patient guide. He allowed us enough time to take pictures and he did a great job of explaining the various sights.
We also got there a little early and they offered us the earlier tour which we really appreciated. It was very well run and organized. 10/10 experience.

We had a nice experience going thru Canyon X. Our guide was very knowledgeable and considerate. It was all very carefully timed so that our group was the only one in the canyon and wr cleared it just as the next group was ready to enter.

The tour guide was fun and it was a relaxed atmosphere. Antelope canyon X is gorgeous! It was hot and you can’t carry in bags so be prepared. You CAN (& should) carry a water bottle. Put on sunscreen. It’s a bit of a walk down to-and up from-the canyon.

Van was an excellent guide! He explained the history of the area and how the sandstone formations are made in an easy-to-undestand way. Plus he acted as our photographer! He made it a great tour.

Booking was a challenge as one minute we were sent a message saying we were good to go and a pdf which was not a ticket. The next day it was cancelled! Then I rebooked! Same first silly message with a strange address which worked well!
Yes the turn towards the ‘industrial area’ is the correct turn!
The trip was very good. Our guide who showed us two canyons was very interesting and the rocks amazing. Definitely worth charging your phone as the views change as the sun/ cloud moves. Amazing history and lots of different views inside the A and V canyons. X canyon has a very definite meaning!

There were some nice photo opportunities but for the most part I would recommend Water hole canyon or upper antelope canyon.

Long drive from Sedona but it was totally worth the trip. We booked the canyon X tour after reading reviews of previous travelers and was not disappointed. The tour itself will be in a group of about 10-15 people with a guide and will be in pretty constant contact with several other groups at the same time although they do coordinate to give space to each group. Tour itself took appx an hour if I remember right and offers some spectacular views inside the slot canyon and insights to the people who inhabit the area, Navajo indians.
Tour starts at the meeting/parking lot just off the main highway where you will get put into transport vans and driven a couple miles into the desert to the entrance of the slot canyon. You will need to be able to walk down into the canyon via a steep dirt trail or on wooden stairs appx 200 stairs maybe. Once down in the canyon you will be led appx a 1/4 mile one way into the canyon and then back out and appx 1/4 mile in the other direction and back out and up the stairs. Beautiful views inside the slot and easy walking on a hard packed flat trail. Hardest part will be the steep stairs in and out. Well worth the money.
