Wine Adventure Tour by Chania Wine Tours
Spend a full day swirling, sipping, and tasting through western Crete with wine professionals. Perfect for honeymoons, birthdays, or other special occasions.
Vasili and Anna Maria, the owners of Chania Wine Tours, are Greek-Americans that returned to their ancestral home of Crete. They are passionate wine people- Vasili owns vineyards and Anna Maria is a Certified Sommelier.
The first half of the day is dedicated to olive oil. Take in the endless olive trees at the Cave of Saint John the Hermit, learn all about olive oil production at Biolea Estate olive mill, and visit the oldest olive tree in the world!
The second half of the day is for wine! Visit the vineyards and tasting room at Karavitakis Winery. Learn how to taste wine properly and how grapes are grown. Enjoy 6 wines. Then to Manousakis Winery for a tour of the winery to learn how wine is made before enjoy 5 more wines. Full lunch with unlimited wine is served on their terrace.

We had a blast with Anna learning about Crete’s history, olive oil, and wine, and we loved exploring the island with her! Anna did an amazing job tailoring the experience to us and we learned a ton while we ate and drank throughout the day!

Had booked a wine tour at manousakis but had to be changed due to a private event! The guys were amazing and offered us different other options and we chose the olive oil and wine tasting tour at Biolea! Wow! Simply wow. What a treat! Not disappointed at all that we did not do the vineyard although will be back to experience it one day. A private tour of the olive oil press, olive oil tasting and a 6 course dinner in their gorgeous garden overlooking a stunning view at sunset. The food was incredible and the service was outstanding! Anastasia was the perfect host as was the Biolea staff! Would give it 10 stars if that was possible. Thank you and we will be back!

Perfect day of sightseeing and wine tasting with Anna and Anastasia. Our group of 12 included 2 children and everyone had a great time. Both ladies were friendly, professional and engaging. The selection of wines and food were excellent. A great find in Crete! Highly recommend!!

Day 1 in Crete, Anna Maria picked us up at the hotel and gave us a great overview of the island’s history, the background of the viticulture, lots of authentic bites and ideas on how to spend our time here. The pace was relaxing and we already can tell we need a lot more time here. 💯 recommend this for your Cretan immersion day.

Great wine tour with a great host Oz. Beautiful scenery , delicious wines and olive oil . We were a group of 6 person with our guide . We did learn a lot of great information about the olive oil and all about good wine and food pairing. Very satisfied with the tour. Would highly recommend

Wine tasting with Chania Wine tours is like having a good friend show you their home town. We went on the wine lover’s tour and had the best time. We have done countless wine tastings over the years but having a guide who was a certified sommelier and local producer was amazing. All three wineries were excellent, the wine and food offerings delicious and plentiful, and the added bonus of the olive oil tasting and visit to the oldest olive tree more memorable than we anticipated. If you plan to buy olive oil or oregano while in Crete, wait for this tour to do it. If I have the good fortune to come back to Crete, I would book with them again!

Authentic an absolute amazing! They are very nice and very open. We had the best day in the olive oil factory and in the vineyards and with beekeeping.

We were picked up from our villa for a day trip that included a visit to the cave of Saint John the Hermit, tour of an olive oil company where we learned about olive oil processing and tasted the final product, two different wine tasting and lunch at Manousakis Winery. This was a near perfect day. The private tour is well worth the cost. The personalized service and engagement made all the different. Anna Maria and Vasilis were fantastic!

Absolutely amazing experience! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging tour guides! We had several stops in our tour, all of which were great! It included local history, education of wine/olive oil practices, and generally speaking, entertaining conversation.
