The Official Tour of St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 takes you through the gates to walk the paths between the tombs where the most famous of New Orleans' historical figures have been laid to rest. Visit the tombs of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau, Homer Plessy, and more.

The tour started on time. The guide explained the story of the most emblematic tombs in the cementery.

It was okay. Felt very touristy and rushed. I’m glad I did it just to be able to say I did, but I was a little dissapointed.

Interesting tour and wonderful guide! We are a family of 5 (2 grandparents and 3 grandsons ages 18, 17 and 17) who took the walking tour of St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 with our guide Zelda who was welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable about the cemetery, the graves, and the people buried there. Zelda also had a wonderful sense of humor which was very entertaining for us. The cemetery tour gave us another insight into the history and culture of New Orleans and we highly recommend it. The Visitor Center is also an interesting place to visit before and after the 45 minute tour.

Very knowledgeable guide who made sure we started on time. It was a fairly quick tour but we learned a lot. Would recommend-really great tour for the price.

Beautiful graveyard, this was our 3rd graveyard tour and by far the best and interesting. Our guide was very informative. You can only see cemetery no.1 with a guide.

Was great to learn why the tombs are above ground, also learning about the tomb Nicholas Cage purchased, and just something different to see and do in New Orleans. Just note to wear a hat and sunscreen if you attend in the summertime.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained a lot about the tombs which made the tour memorable. I did not know that people are still being entombed there

The tour was ok, the gentleman giving our tour didn’t seem very interested in being there. When he asked if anyone had questions, he was irritated to answer or gave a smart mouth response.
