An 9 hour tour to Aveiro, the portuguese "Venice" and Coimbra, one of the oldest capitals of Portugal.
Starting in Aveiro, a museum city of Art Noveau, birds and salt pans, you will find some of the most beautiful buildings of the country. A tradicional "moliceiro" boat ride along the channels is part of the tour. After tasting the typical regional sweets, have a walk in the centre where we will visit the Cathedral, St Joana museum, and the fish market. You will then have some free time for lunch.
After, we will take you to Coimbra, a city known for being the students city with an astonishing University. Filled with monuments and historical treasures, this city is ready to be discovered by you. Starting with the Cathedral of Coimbra, St.Cruz Church and the Historical City Center. Followed by the University of Coimbra where you can go inside for an optional visit.
You will then be driven to your accommodation back in Oporto.

This was a great day and a great way to get out of the city and see some smaller towns. Our guide was very knowledgable and accommodating - letting us set the pace of the day and stopping for pictures/answer questions!

This tour for the price was a good value. Unfortunately, for others in our group we were the only ones that had tickets to the University Complex (which we purchased in advance) and the tickets for that day were sold out. While the others ones waited and found other things to do my husband and I were happy as clams to enter into the university. I felt bad though for the others not having tickets. Your listing indicates that the tickets are not included but maybe a way to remind folks might be reinforce when you email them with the tour details and include an online link to purchase tickets. Other than that the day was great. Our guide suggested a restaurant that served roasted pork and it was delicious. Aveiro was beautiful and we also had time to visit the beach which was nice!

The tour exceeded our expectations: 10 points in everything. Both really lovely cities. Our guide Alex, very pleasant and cordial, provided us with all the information of interest and recommended the best attractions. He managed his times precisely, in addition to being an excellent driver. We recommend the tour and Alex very especially. Thank you very much for an excellent tour!

I had a mixed experience on the Coimbra and Aveiro tour. Despite being picked up at 8:15am, the tour didn’t start until 9:30am (as we were told that we could grab coffees, but it ended up being a long stop), and then began at 10:30am in Conimbriga, which, although not on the itinerary, was a magnificent site of Roman ruins.
Unfortunately, the experience deteriorated in Coimbra. We arrived at around 12:40pm, and our guide incorrectly informed us that entry to the university was free for “museum day,” leading us to miss out as tickets were actually required and had sold out.
After some rushed sightseeing of cathedrals and lunch, we left Coimbra at 4:20pm, hurrying to catch a boat in Aveiro. The moliceiro boat ride at 5:04pm was pleasant, but our guide’s phone died en route to Aveiro. She had issues navigating without her phone and used mine instead.
We were at Aveiro for another hour or so for some further sightseeing whilst our guide went to charge her phone, and left at approx. 7.30pm.
We also missed Mercado Do Peixe Da Costa Nova (as we were informed that this shuts at 1pm), and returned to Porto by 8:30pm. Overall, the tour felt disorganised and the guide’s lack of knowledge of the tour and professionalism was disappointing.

Our guide was Alex and he did the tour in English and Spanish, both excellent, because of a mixed group. A very competent driver, polite and very attentive to all our questions and requirements, staying silent when nobody was talking in the car, which was much appreciated. Informative talks, usually given outside the monuments we visited (Coimbra University, Cathedral, etc.) and we went on the boat trip unaccompanied but with a boatman-guide who explained everything in 4 languages! Two lovely places to visit. Recommended.
