What an incredible experience and wonderful tour! The early start makes the day incredibly worth while, getting to Chichen Itza before it opens and being some of the first people there and beating the extreme midday heat is brilliant. Swimming in the Cenote to cool down before a classic lunch was perfect. Our guide Sarai and “ el capitán” Juan were excellent. If you’re visiting Cancun you have to book this tour!!

This was great! Well with the money. It’s an all day excursion. The tour of Xichen Itza was terrific, then you go to a beautiful cenote to swim, then on to a beautiful restaurant. The restaurant was a buffet style but the food was terrific! You will see things that you could never see on your own.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience on our tour. Our tour guide, Silvestre, AKA “Rambo” was a knowledgeable and passionate guide who not only taught us about the Mayan culture, but made of feel immersed and a part of the culture and landscape of the region. I hope to have him as a tour guide on future visits. Jenni was also a kind and wonderful guide who helped us to always feel comfortable.

Halfway through the tour, I felt sick from the heat at Chichén Itzá. Silvestre and Felipe ensured that I felt better and made sure that I was okay before proceeding to the Cenotes. I truly felt safe and in caring hands at that vulnerable time.

Thankfully, after sitting in the cold bus and getting hydrated, I got to continue enjoying the beautiful tour to Valladolid. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience 3 phenomenal locations in one day.

And once again, to the wonderful staff members, Silvestre, Jenni, and Felipe, thank you for making our experience so seamless and enjoyable!! You made the experience above the rest!

Unmissable excursion. It far exceeded my expectations. Everything is designed to have a spectacular time. The guide Armando is a crack, he knows a lot and accompanied us throughout the day. Exquisite breakfast, unlimited drinks throughout the day, they give you a very nice bottle of water as a gift. The tour of Chichén Itzá was spectacular, Álvaro guided us there, excellent too. Then we visited and bathed in a 66 million year old cenote. Without words… a very enriching experience. Later we went to Valladolid and had lunch in an excellent place. A mansion from the Xcaret group from the 19th century, the best service and exquisite food. José attended to us, excellent too. Don't hesitate to pay a little more for this tour because it is really worth every penny. Thank you!

This was a good tour and we enjoyed the guide. We learned a lot about the area. This was a good thing to do if it’s raining. The lunch had a few veggies options.

We went yesterday with Xcaret. The hotel staff member nor the app describing the trip said anything about cenotes. So we did not bring our bathing suits which was a huge disappointment when we arrived in 100 degree weather and could not swim. The breakfast was awful. Not as described in the app we were referred to. Chichen Itza was amazing. Our female guide Isla ? Was wonderful! We were kind of conned into buying a calendar and necklace. I should have been more wary.

Wow! What an amazing day! We booked the Chichen Itza Deluxe tour with our hotel, and we had a fantastic day.

The bus was nice, we had to be at the pickup point at 7am (from Playa Del Carmen) the bus had 2 toilets and held 46 people, but we got separated into 2 groups at Chichen Itza (English and Spanish) the breakfast was okay, (no vegetarian choice, as I’m vegetarian) ham and cheese sandwich, carrot cake type cake, and a orange juice. After about 2.5 hours (from Playa del Carmen) we arrived at Chichen Itza, the admission fee was included in the price we paid, we got given a large umbrella, shared between 2 people and a bottle of water (you got to keep the bottle) our tour guide Mariel was amazing, so friendly and a good guide, very informative, we had about a 45 minutes guided tour and then 45 minutes of our own time, where we could take pictures and look at the booths. This was so interesting, an amazing place, didn’t feel rushed either.

We then got back on the bus and travelled to the cenote, about an hour away, this was breathtaking, so so so stunning, and we seemed to be beating the crowds as well, we were the first bus to arrive, the first people down to the cenote, it was stunning, there were fish in the water and birds flying around, it looked like something out of Avatar! We had an hour here, so make sure you get changed quickly, but if you don’t want to swim that’s fine, you can go down to the cenote and take photos.

We then left and drove about an hour to the town where we had a buffet lunch with unlimited drinks, so tasty again, loads of choice, and a few drink options too, we had about 1.5 hours here, so we weren’t rushed to eat, and then we could explore the town for a bit, we got some chocolate from Choco Story in our free time and then we sat at the park in the middle, be warned though it is so so hot, my phone said felt like 43°C, so wear suncream and protective clothing! We then set off on the way back, and we got back to Playa del Carmen at 6:30pm.

Our guides Silvestre and Mariel were so friendly and funny, really helpful too, really good guides! Silvestre was very informative when giving us information on the way to Chichen Itza.

The drink options were Sprite, Coca Cola or beer, and these were handed out a lot.

Definitely worth the money, good day that didn’t feel rushed at all, no waiting around, we beat the crowds every time and our guides were so friendly. Chichen Itza is a must see, I highly, highly recommend!!

I have to start by saying our guides, Armando and Rodolfo were just amazing.
Not sure if they'd allow you to request a guide, but if you could ask for them.
It was an incredible tour on its own, but those guys really made it perfect.
Then, just to put it out there - this is a long day.
We got picked up at 6:50a and weren't back to our hotel until about 8:30.
We got picked up in a very comfortable Coach Type of bus and were driven to Xel-Ha after picking up guests at two other resorts.
From there, we switched to a different Coach Bus to be taken to Chitzen Itza which was about a 2 hour drive. Upon getting on the bus we were given a lunch of a sandwich, juice and muffin - it was pretty good.
The bus had a bathroom and USB ports to charge devices.
On the way, Armando give clear expectations for the day, how long things would take, where we would be and when, and then other stories along the way.
At Chitzen Itza our total group of about 40-50 got split into two groups.
One was with Rodolfo for Spanish Speakers, and Armando with the English speakers.
Getting off the bus they gave you a water bottle - that was filled up - to carry around which was incredible as the day we went it was 101 degrees and if you wanted to grab an umbrella to stay out of the sun, they had those too.
We were with Armando for about an hour on the grounds and then after his guiding we got about an hour on our own to check it out - which was really cool.
One thing that surprised me as there are vendors all over the grounds, so if shopping is your thing, they have it for you. I didn't find them to be pushy or anything and a simple "no gracias" worked if you weren't interested.
From there we got back on the bus and they took us to Tsukan Cenote and that was like 20 minutes away.
We were told we only had an hour there, so as soon as the bus stopped we got out and made our way to the Cenote.
It was a little walk and you had to shower off first and grab a life jacket, then go down 100 stairs to the entrance of the Cenote
They had lockers if you wanted them, my group just put our stuff on the bench near the entry.
It was beautiful...the water was refreshingly cool and after the heat at Chitzen Itza very much needed.
We swam around for 45 minutes, got out and then walked the grounds a little before getting back on the bus.
This time when we did they had beer and soda in a cooler ready for you.
From there it was to Valladolid which was maybe an hour away...after taking pictures at Chitzen Itza and the heat having the charging port to use for my phone was great.

We got to Valladolid and had a buffet type of lunch (beer, soda, juice and water were included) and it was so good.
We had a total of 1.5 hours in Valladolid. We ate in about 45 then walked around for the rest of the time, spending a lot of time in the Central Park area.

From there it was back to Xel-Ha to transfer buses, then back to our Resort.

It was a long day, no doubt - but given what we got to see and experience, I have zero regrets and would have done it all again the next day if I could have.
Each place could be its own excursion.
I have seen Chitzen Itza on TV or in pictures - same with Cenotes, but seeing them with your own two eyes is just different - that awesomeness of them both is hard to describe.
If you really want to go, but think the ride is not worth it, you are wrong...I was part of a group of 8.
One guy stayed behind, 4 of us eagerly signed up, and 3 signed up reluctantly.
Those 3 at the end of the day said they were so glad they came as they would have regretted it had they stayed behind at the resort.

How often do you get to see a UNESCO Heritage site/Wonder of the World???
Go.

From the get-go, the Xichén tour by Xcaret was a seamless adventure. The bus, our trusty chariot, arrived on the dot at our Playa del Carmen pick-up point, setting the tone for a day of punctual perfection. Kudos to Ramon, our driver, for keeping us on schedule and hydrated!

First stop, the majestic Chichén Itzá. Our group was divided into English and Spanish-speaking tours. We hit the jackpot with Mariel, our guide. Bursting with energy, humor, and encyclopedic knowledge, she transformed what could have been a mere history lesson into a vibrant storybook of ancient wonders. Her jokes? Pure gold. We had an hour-long guided tour followed by an hour of free time to explore.

A quick note for future adventurers: Chichén Itzá was hotter than a jalapeño in July. Remember to pack a hat and sunglasses. Thankfully, they provided umbrellas, making us feel like stylish explorers of yore.

After melting under the Yucatán sun, we were welcomed back to the bus with ice-cold drinks courtesy of Ramon. Sipping on sodas and beers, we headed to our next destination: a stunning cenote. Just remember to shower before diving in and reapply that SPF because the fun wasn’t over yet.

Our final stop was Valladolid, where we were treated to a lunch buffet that dreams are made of. With a hundred different dishes, each one calling your name, it was impossible not to sample everything. The result? A glorious food coma. Post-feast, we had a bit of free time to explore this charming city. Despite the sweltering 43°C (109°F) heat, the colorful houses and vibrant atmosphere made it worth every sweaty second.

During the whole journey, we were entertained by Sylvester, another guide with a razor-sharp wit and a treasure trove of fascinating facts about Mayan culture and the region's history.

In summary, the Xichén tour by Xcaret was an absolute blast! From the organized transport and delightful guides to the breathtaking sites and delicious food, every detail was spot on. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to mix history, culture, and a hearty dose of humor into their vacation.
